Resonator Removal Question

i just removed my 2 resonator for $40, with turbo xs dp/rp setup, it sound more like cobra....!!!

No drone at 2500 rpm? With the same setup and with both resos still in place it was (1) a lot louder and (2) making really bad drone at the exact rpm that most daily driving would take place. With a half hour commute in each direction, this was really producing headaches for me.

So, I inserted the third reso. But it was a big 3 inch very high flow straight through one. Maybe taking the other two out helps in some way to remove the drone, or maybe it does not bother you? But yes, the TurboXS catless dp/rp has some real bark to go along with its very noticable bite.

i do notice drone at 2500rpm, its kinda annoying... but im good with it...

I regretted removing my resonators and ended up replacing the stock CBE with Magnaflow...I miss the wide open demon scream, but for everything else it is way better and my wife doesn't get headaches riding with me.

uhh maybe but im not to sure, kinda hard to tell from the pic. do you have a link to it?

That is what a single wall 3 1/2 inch ordinarly stainless Magnaflow tip, welded in place of the stock tip, looks like after a few months of running a catless dp/rp. I did not go buy a "burnt tip." I made it the natural way - real heat. Not interested in pretending. lol. Double click on the pix for a close up.

ha yeah thats what i thought, but im still a little confused about what i should do. if i cut my resos i could then buy a dp/rp and it will hook up to the stock catback?

Yes, exactly. At least mine did. TurboXS calls that setup "stealthback." I can't speak to how well other dp/rp kits would connect to the stock CBE, but I'd guess most are designed with that option in mind.

Believe me, without the cats the exhaust will get hot enough to give a single wall, slightly smaller tip that "burnt" look. And along with that look you get some serious power gains!

"I can't speak to how well other dp/rp kits would connect to the stock CBE, but I'd guess most are designed with that option in mind." (from previous post).

You'll have to ask someone with the CS setup or maybe go to the company's site or ask them.

I think the Corksport CBE sounds the best on the MS3, and when I do finish with the performance mods, this will be my sound mod. It has that boxer tone I like.

That'll make it straight pipe. If you have a catless dp/tp combo and a straight pipe CBE... if will be very very loud and sound pretty horrible.
