I need to replace the Wide-Band O2 sensor.

How hard is it? Anyone done it before?

I need to do it on my 2006 MS6.

Anyone tell me where it is exactly? Want to make sure...

it's in your down pipe/exhaust...you can rent the o2 removal tool from auto zone...it's not that hard to do...unplug the old one remove, screw in the new one, plug it in good to go! there are other o2 sensors so it's bet to follow the wires from the guage to make certain you have the right one...i take it you didn't install it?

Behind the engine, right? I think it's the one I'm seeing from the passenger side of the vehicle, right behind the engine.

hmmm... I may try that out myself then. Now to find one that's not crazy over priced.

I am looking for the part number at Napa Auto Parts.

Oxygen (O2) Sensor Part Number: NGK 24354

Is that the correct part? Sorry for the noob question, there are just a lot of 02 sensors available.

please be careful when taking out the sensor ms6's and 3's have been known to be a pain the ass when trying to remove those o2 sensors.

Yeah I was going to rent a o2 socket from Napa or Autozone to get it out. Soak it with penetrating oil the night before too.

Just need to make sure that I'm buying the right one.

the best way to get it out with out screwing anything up is to drive the car a bit and do it while the downpipe is hot. i don't think a little bit of metal shavings is going to hurt anything in the exhaust.

Worst thing that can happen is you jack up the threads in the exhaust, then you can't put a new one in.

Do drive the car and take it out hot or heat it with a torch. Much much easier.

And make sure you have the right sensor, you should be throwing a code and that code will point you to which O2 sensor it is.

And everything I just wrote I've had the pleasure of learning the hard way.

Good luck. If no problems, it's a ten minute fix.

No code. No CEL.

I've been having the same issue with the car for about 9 months now. No clue what the answer is and Mazda is clueless to (my stealership). Best I got is the answer from this thread below.
