Red Seat Covers

That’s insane to me, I work at General Motors and we still have remote start on our key fobs… it’s so crazy that Mazda has the capability built into the vehicle but require you to pay a monthly subscription for their app in order to use it.
Technically the capability to start from a fob is not built into the vehicle. It only responds to an encrypted signal beamed from the cell towers, and not one from a short-range key.

I’m also looking at dash cams, I’m waiting to hear back from the dealer to verify if we can tap into the mirror or sunroof to power the camera without voiding the warranty. I know the sales person said we’re required to have oil changes done at a Mazda dealer in order to keep the warranty intact. I normally take my vehicles to a family friend who’s a certified car mechanic, but it sounds like we aren’t allowed to use him even for oil changes, I just hate how much dealerships mark up all their services. If you have any experience with this that would also be helpful!
Yeah that's nonsense about the warranty. Not true at all.

But yes you can power a dash cam from the mirror.

That's true IF your trim level specifically includes Navigation (not sure if the Carbon does or not). If it's supposed to include Nav, and you can't find the card, go back to your salesperson to get it.

And yes, that's the only use for that SD slot.

That's BS. You can get your oil changed anywhere, but keep good records to prove your service history if a warranty event should arise. Having said that, it IS a good idea to use the dealership for service in those initial years, just to build a good relationship with the service dept. That way, they will more likely go to bat for you with Mazda if something ever fails outside of warranty coverage.

In our case I like our service dept, and go there for oil changes even after the warranty period. They are reasonable ($70-75 for synthetic) and include a safety check and inspection video each time. YMMV.
I’ll have to check and see if it was suppose to be included. If not is there any real reason to buy the card since we normally use CarPlay?

As for building a reputation with the dealership’s service center I hadn’t thought about it that way, I can see how that would be an important relationship to have, and at $75 for an oil change I can deal with that price. Thanks for the insight!
