recommended tire size

i am looking into buying a set of rims that are 18x8.5. so now i need to think of what tire size i would like to put on them. my question is should i get 235/40/18 or 245/40/18 and what would be the benifits of getting the one size over the other?

One would be lighter the other wider but no real big differance overall. Just my .02

just for reference- I'm running 18x8 with 235-40's and I'm lowered on Eibachs.. I'll rub only slightly under extreme conditions. Others are running 225-40's with different drop/same drop... some seem to be rubbing and others don't.
I'm pretty confident you're going to be scrubbing tire with 8.5's and 235's or higher. You might scrub with 8.5's and 225.

If a 235/40 on an 18x8 doesn't rub, then a 235/40 on an 18x8.5 shouldn't rub either provided the wheels have the same offset. The extra 0.5 inch width should have a virtually negligable affect on where the shoulder ends up in relation to the fender.
