Hello,

This is my first post and my first new car. I got a 09 Mazda5 base pkg. I've been looking around at other cars I've seen and love the rear spoiler. I visited the parts counter at the dealership and they said that the spoiler isn't available separately. There doesn't appear to be a difference between 06-07 and the 09. Does anyone know of a difference? Has anyone tried installing an older spoiler on the new cars?

Congrats on the buy!
Welcome!
Fixing it up already? he he (naughty)

Anything as long as it is NOT this....

I think that one is UGLY ! (freak)

So, keep looking and contact the seller they should tell you if it's compatible, but I don't think there is much diff in the years.

Maybe DIMA or someone can chime in here; I've not put mine on yet.

Good luck!

Peace!(rei)

Thanks. The one I've seen is more streamlined and flows with the contours better. This is exactly the color and style I'm looking for.

The first picture is the Mazda aftermarket rear spoiler for the GS(Canada),
while the latter is the OEM for the GT. If I'm not mistaken.

I revised my reply, thanks AwaKen and dima_rus, I must be sleepy when I wrote the original reply!!! hehe

the first spoiler is aftermarket spoiler for Mazda5 and looks really good. I've seen one in person and it looks insane.

if you need a spoiler then look for the BAyson R type or the one that Dima_Rus has. You cannot have the one on the second pic (sgt okinawa) since it is integrated on the hatch (the hatch is plastic)

Wait what? I agree with DYX.

And wmzda5 are you saying the picture I posted = you can't get that one? I thought it was after market and anyone could rip theirs off (yes it's plastic) and install this one, agree it's a lot of work, but doable?

thanks for clarification,
Peace!(rei)

First, if you have the GT spoiler why would you want the aftermarket one?
Second, sorry I do not literally say that is its not doable but.... who would want to rip out a perfectly good GT spoiler to be replaced by the aftermarket one?

What i was saying just to clarify is that in my opinion you are in a better position if you do not have original spoiler and then just add an aftermarket BR spoiler

Got it, *wink* no problem I kind of knew what you ment, I thought I was wrong, (stooges)

Muahahaha, you've not live in Japan have you? j/k.

I swear the game over here is to NOT look like ANY OTHER car, van, truck, scooter, bike, pair of shoes over here, it's all about remember one rule...

"Remember your unique, just like everyone else." (boom06)

He he he, you don't know me very well,...*wink* Lots of folks and I have torn apart Skylines, Corolla 86's, Mark II's, 300Z's, etc. Including a nice Cifero that my wife drove, anyhow we do it more just to put 'different after market' things on them, use for a while, rip that off and sell it and go get new... just to go against the grain of ((Cringe)) plane Jane EVEN dealer down skirts and yes, spoilers. (alright)

Just my .02 worth

Peace!(rei)

The factory rear spoiler is available in Canada and it's colour matched. It's listed as $395 Can$. You can get the part number on the Mazda Canada website. Check the internet - Google etc - to find a dealer that will sell it this way. Current exchange rates would bring it down about 10% but add shipping and customs.

I just did the reverse. I ordered the Mazda factory seat covers (not available in Canada according to 3 dealers) from a dealer in Arizona. Even with shipping and customs it was less than Mazda USA's list price.

This is not an add-on spoiler... it is one piece mold with the tailgate... you can't just buy the spoiler and install...

In U.S. market, standard on Touring and Grand Touring, N/A for sport...

Trust me... we have both sport and touring in the family.
