Personally, I would never recomend nitrous to anyone unless they have some way of retarding timing when spraying. But it's your car, you decide. Without some timing retard, I wouldn't go over the smallest, 35 shot I think. My opinion though.

Well your wrong..There are many of us that are using [bold]wet[/bold] kits..and have had no problems...you are right about the timing..but only if you go upto 75 or larger...a 35shot..or a 50 like i am running will have no ill effect...only the MP3's have advanced timing!!

Unless you had it installed by a orofessional tuner that has had years of experience with it. If you are so sure you know what you are talking about, let me as you this. You are supposedly using a "wet" shot. Did you know that the ECU will pull as much fuel as you add. So really, you aren't using a wet shot. I'll bet you didn't even know that about the Protege ECU. So basically all that fuel that is being added for the nitrous is being sensed by the O2 sensors and being pulled back out by the ECU. If you don't believe me just ask Kieth from FM.

Also, I didn't know someone "opinion" could be wrong. You are such a dumb s***.

BUT in regards to your nitrous theory i have to differ a little.
now maybe IM wrong but from what i understand about nitrous bieng injected in the N/A motor, it actually increases charge density for both fuel and air
the stock o2 will not send (neccisarily) a rich condition to the ecu
yes it has the ability to pull 30 % fuel from the injectors. but only if it sees the increase and not the load thru the MAF and TPS
now i stated earlier that i am forded induction all the way but for the people who have a family to supprt and a budget that cant handle the extra 5000 ( which the number is pretty acurate )
the a nice intake, LONG tube 4-2-1 header and cat back exhaust will make them happy
if thats what they want then let them have it
the post was just asking for some opinions and now they have all of ours. good or bad im sure they will make the decision that siuts there needs

Hey ***! You heard me the F8cking first time..It doesn't...And Yes...I had it proffesionally..installed...They guy has Nitrous on his Race CAr...and not to mention...been drag racing for many..years...Have you ever run Nitrous...I didn't think so..it's alwayz the non users that think they know everything...just because you drive a H2000...A small shot will not harm..the car..just like a little boost will not harm the car...it's when you start adding lots of nitrous or boost..when the cars internals have problems...OK

No, I'm from Texas. I don't street race either. The only racing I do is on a track. The S2000 wasn't meant to drag race anyway. This car was built for track racing. The only reason I don't send a "nice vibe" is because I refuse to sugar coat anything. I'm not going to be nice to these two idiots. They know very little about cars and it shows. They are promoting the use of nitrous, even though more motors have been blown in Proteges from nitrous than turbos. Trust me, I know Proteges, I used to have one. I know a lot about the FS motor, and nitrous is a bad idea. Especially anything over a 50shot. And nitrous on the MP3 is just stupid. I mean no hard feelings, but I'm not going to take insults from guys with 6th grade intelligence. I never said Honda is better than Mazda. I know the F20c is a much better than the FS-DE, that's not even comparable. Mazda built piston motors are fine, it's just the heads that suck. That's where Honda gets all it's power from, good head design. Mazda is know for their rotary. But I will say that the 1.8 Miata motor is VERY durable and handles boost like a champ. The biggest problem with the Protege is the ECU and it's lack of controlability. Mazda doesn't want anyone to be able to hack into it. And this kills aftermarket support.

& I have been running 50shots..for sometime now.

You are right about the Mp3's...but those guys...were running Dry Kits...(zex to be exact)!
 
I'll say the same thing I did last time. You haven't had any problems YET. About 80% of the people that use nitrous, wet or dry, couse damage to their motors. Is that a personal attack to you? No, I'm just telling you the truth. I wish you luck with your nitrous, you will need it. As we speak, your pistons are wearing thin on the crown. Before too long, one will give, and you will think back to this conversation that you got all defensive about.

the controlability issue with the ecu (actually PCM) comes from ford
they hold the rights to any programing and want to be paid for
i dont blame them because they own it
now because of emmision regs they DONT want anyone to foo with it
thats what is killing the aftermarket availability not mazda
now i have a question for you revs,
what is the difference in load content between turbo charging and getting 50 -75 hp on the stock internals and nitrous with the stock internals at the same hp shot
maybe im ignorant so i would like to know the difference
