Yeah the MSP has some rattles and annoying noises at different places...I just have a couple but they are faint. It's no Benz, and you can tell there is not a lot of soundproofing...on the freeway with the music off, the RE 040s sound like tank tracks...

Any car with a stiff suspension like the MSP has will develope rattles. Just turn the music up, cuz you'll drive yourself crazy chasing them down all the time. It's not that the car is a POS....every road vibration and thump is transmitted directly to the interior. Even a Mercedes would develop rattles if it had this car's suspension. It's one of the prices we pay for having one of the best handling cars sold.

Yeah I'd rather have the stiff suspension and great handling, than a quiet interior..

This is my fourth Mazda vehicle since 1990 and I found them all to be of high quality. My parents have also just purchased their fifth Mazda since 1989 and they also speak well of the brand. The MSP's are quite unusual in their troublesome nature it seems.

meh - there might be something to this, but I'm a little miffed about that stupid rear panel. the whole "kenwood subwoofer from the factory!" pitch isn't such a perk if the rear deck can't hold itself together under the moderate pounding.

nothing to stay up late bitching over, but a gnat in the ointment anyway.
