Rally Armor owners - winter experiences?

So....lately we've been getting pounded with slush and snow. And my car is absolutely filthy. I don't know if it's the +48 offset on my winter wheels, but the sides of my car are absolutely plastered with crap all over the place. The rocker panels are covered and caked with frozen snow and slush. The rear bumper isn't so bad.

So, how are the Rally Armor guys in the colder climates enjoying those mudflaps?? I am almost considering getting the set and only installing the fronts. My buddy did this on his 08 STI and it looked rather decent!

I'll tell you what, this car is an absolute blast to drive in the winter with the proper tires!

The entrance to my sub is an ascending left hander, and you have to take it on an angle. But with the snow build up it can be tricky. So i'll take it with some speed, head in at a sharp angle, hand on the e-brake. As soon as the front end starts to push (or better yet, hydroplane since it can't sift the snow that quickly), yank the e-brake once then jump on the gas and I am drifting baby!! JDM tyte!

hahaha this made me laugh! i parked my speed 3 for winter

I had snow this weekend. Though no snow sprayed on the car, I did get alot of salt on the car.

I have the UR Blue flaps, once I get some sizable snow falls ill post a picture of how they do.

I can imagine it's not pleasant. But, again, it's not a collector car. You'll probably trade it in a few years and won't get anywhere near what you deserve, even if it's got low mileage. Just drive it!

haha yeah i would, but i have a van, a truck and the speed 3... so i just leave it in the garage for winter

also i have not had time to get my starter installed or enough money to buy winters yet... but next winter she should be an all season slut :)

Well you may need Rally Armor more than I do, but I understand. I want to get a remote starter too. I have one actually and just haven't installed it yet.

remote starters are for lazy people............what a fkin waste of gas.....

1. Car only needs to run for a second
2. It warms up way faster when you drive it
3. No wonder we used to pay $5 bucks a gallon
4. Only time you need to waste gas is when you are cooling the turbo

Don't worry i'm subbin' and waiting for snow to send u a pic but if I get snow sport6 will definitely be getting snow too.

Cool, i'll be waiting!

Have you guys looked at the basic flaps in person? I know they look cheap and probably are, but personally I can't justify spending $119.99 on mud flaps that I personally hate anyhow. And I won't be installing the rears either. Call it half-assed, but I can deal with the rear bumper gettin sloppy, I cannot deal with the entire side of the car getting trashed. That and, I personally do NOT like how the rally armors look on our cars at all. We're not rally cars. However, we could benefit from the protection during those rough months.

i saw an 08 STI tonight and I think he had some basic flaps on wasn't too impressed. But I could have been mistaken.

Mine were a gift. Something I wouldn't buy for myself but I haven't heard a rock get kicked up and hit my doors once since they've been on. And I have a lot of chips. For a daily driver i said 'eff it and got some and now I have piece of mind.
