Radar Detectors

Has anyone used the cordless Escort Solo 2? I have heard you don't get that great of a distance with a batterie powered radar detector. Is this one better than most cordless radar detectors. I had a cordless silver bullet radar detector for a while and it worked great. There were a few times where it detected the laser a little to late, but overall I loved it.
 
I bought a whistler from walmart for like 50 bucks its small has a remote and works very well for me. I would recomend it!!
 
anyone used the Whistler's XTR-560? its about 140 ish... just wonderin. the reviews on epinions.com seem pretty decent

You'll get what you pay for. how much is a ticket woth to u..traffic school??fines???insurance and so on. Where I live they have been showing on the news that chps have a new radar gun that works on laser which is hard to detect is it is. Mst guns use pop now and so on. I had an 8500 but was stolen but was already looking to buy the latest one. Id buy it new as to have a warranty.(five-0)
 
anyone know if escort or beltronics is coming out with a new radar anytime soon? i dont want to buy the x50 and have them release a new one. just wondering if anyone knew!
 
ok. i cant afford that one. lol. i'm lookin at the 8500 x50 rite now, just dont want them to come out w/ a new one if i opt to buy it

yea i saw it. i google new radar and it came up. but its gona be 449 so i went ahead and got the x50. i dont need gps so i'm good.

I think it's more of a matter of preference... I however prefer the V1 since my friend has 2 of them, 1 for himself and 1 for his wife, and each of them havn't gotten tickets unless they were caught without v1. Both are pretty insane drivers and both go to the track. That's really the reason I got mine since my friend does his research before buying anything. He's had his since the mid 90's and as long as I've known him.

I base my opinion on I have owned one for 3 years and not one ticket.(first)
