Quick question about the Mazdaspeed exhaust

Hey, quick question for everyone. Is the Mazdaspeed exhaust by itself purely for noise? What if we were to have just that without changing the whole exhaust system or intake? Do we see some sort of power gain at all?

hmmm, as much as ive read, you get absolutly NO power gains, buuut thats just what i heard on numerous occasions (it would be cool if someone finally put an end to it and proved whether it did or did not have any gains....dyno anyone????)

eitherway, if you do get some, you wont get much. but it sounds cool, not too loud, its just right and it looks clean, go for it dude

If it is going to give you any extra power, I believe it is at the high end. Like 4000+ rpm

I think it would help a bit, at least better than the stock muffler.

A little bit less restriction.

I did see a dyno from a user here. It was quite some time ago, but I am certain he got about 3-4 HP at the wheels on the dyno. Yeah it's at higher rpm's, but for an axleback, it's damn good, and is only slightly lower in performance than the Racing beat cat back system.

wah... so the sports exhaust make noise ?? i was thining to get it... but... i dont want to make noise all over the place !

dude do not buy it is to loudddddddddddddddddd i bout it and the same day took it off and returned it do not recomend at all

i love my mazdaspeed axle back.. when the car is all warmed up and it sounds PURTY... i have people tell me that my car sounds NICE.. and not to loud yea the drouning might get to some people but i just turn the music up and bam dont hear it any more

i got a mixed feeling on the mazdaspeed muffler in the last few days.

as soon as the car started, U know there is something, deep, low, powerful. but once on the road at about 2k rpm and above 3500rpm, man it's louder than i expected, at times i feel ashamed becaust it sounds so loud but the car doesn't pull as fast as it sounds.

so far my wife hasn't got mad with it, so i guess i'll keep it for now.

The "drone" takes a little getting use to. It took me about a week to forget it was there. May also be able to throw some Dynamat in it to take a little of it out. Now, if I have the radio up about 1/2 way, I barely even notice it (without any noise dampening). I actually like it because I can hear the revs better with the radio on now.

i love the sound of the ms axle back some time i turn the music of and have the windows down and just listen i love it...but it does seem the loudest when im trying to talk to soem next to me LMAO. or when the passenger (mostly my gf) trys to talk on the phone lol...

ive had mine on for almost a year now...it was a bit loud when i first got it, but i have gotten used to it although i still love the sound it makes...

this muffler could actually improve mpg.

as now i'm trying to keep the sound under control, i'm very gentle with the throttle pedal. :D
