Anyone out there with P5 and Bosch Wiper blades have issues like skipping across the wiendshield? It is the most annoying thing about the wiper blades when they skip across the wiendshield. I doubt there is a solution for this but if there is, please do share.

the wipers are fairly new. thats why its kind of hard to imagine them skipping along. what do you use to wash your wiendshield when you wash your car?

I just bought some cheap s*** ones at Wal Mart a month ago. They work well. Were like 6 bucks each.

I'm not the only one! Mine suck, they skip like mad when they're not wet enough.

Yeah, its strange to think that these "expensive" wipers should be such poor performers. The only reason i had to replace the original ones because they tore apart after the winter time.

i still need to get a replacement for the rear window. its been torn up since winter. i cant seem to find any 13" blades in the store. i guess i have to get it from the dealer

Thats an interesting approach. So regular car polish or wax, not anything special for windows? Ill give it a shot. Thanks.

polish your windows...
car polish/wax will work just fine.

Yep car wax or rainx is great. I use the 99cent window wash stuff. As for the rear wiper, just cut one that will fit in the fron t window. I had to do this before when I couldnt find one. Oriellys actually did it for me. LOL

I have the exact same problem, I've tried everything to try to fix them. I have not yet tried car wax. I'll give it a try today. I can't see in the rain with these expensive wipers.

don't get the dealer 13" you will be buying two a year for sure man!! depends how hard your winter is i guess!

Yeah the dealer wipers are a rip off. Just get an extra blade like you have on the fronts and have the parts store cut it or do it yourself. I did this for about a year till it was time to replace it.

don't even bother with the rain-x stuff...or even the wiper restorer crap....

polish your windshield w/ the same stuff you use on your paint (unless you use colored wax)

If your wipers are dried out.... then rub them with brake fluid. (brake fluid helps restore rubber)

but thats just my 2 cents...
although i've been doing this for about 10 years now...

anyone try the PIAA silicone wipers? a friend of mine has them, and says thay're the best thing since sliced bread.

I'm a picky bastard when it comes to my windshield, visibility and the wipers. In a little over 1 yr of owning the car, I'm on my 3.5th set of wipers (stock, replaced once, then just the passenger one, then winter set, then brand new set in April).

From what I've heard, the expensive BOSCH stuff is not all that better at all. The wiper I like best is the Rain-X brand wiper (available at Walmart). The TripleEdge WalMart stuff also works well (right now I have one Rain-X, one TripleEdge because they didn't have both 21" and 19" sizes in both). The difference in terms of wiping quality is pretty small. Rain-X one is more aerodynamic, so it lifts less off the windshield.

In my experience, windshield wipers go thru three stages: excellent wiping for first two, three months, then average wiping for 8 months or a year, then they start breaking down and wipe worse and worse (as far as I'm concerned). Honest, though, I haven't had any set of wipers for more than 4 months yet, and they all get bad enough after 4 months for my taste.

So I figure: screw spending money on $15+ wipers. I go to WalMart, shell out $14-16 for the pair, and I'm happy for three months. Total cost of wipers per year: $64, if changed every three months. Glad to pay that much for good visibility.

i found the PIAAs over priced

they are pricey.. but it's medical grade silicone... which not only is the smoothest material you can have gracing your windshield, but it also (from reports) leaves a sorta proctective silicone "film" that acts in a way like what rainX treatment is supposed to do... let the rain "sheet off" the windshield.

Let's see, tirerack.com sells 'em. it's $19 passenger, $22 driver. $41 + shipping. If they wipe all perfect for 7 or more months, they may be worth getting, but I somehow doubt that.

Is it raining someplace?? I'm a little protected here in SoCal I guess...

I use factory blades, and Rain-X on the windshield. Seems to work fine, but my dad has always told me that wax on the windshield is the best. But Rain-X hasn't done me wrong yet.

I have a '54 GMC pick-up with vacuum controlled wipers. When you step on the gas, the wipers stop, and I mean stop dead, if you were on the freeway, they could stop for 30 seconds or more at a time. With Rain-X I didn't even need wipers, the wind just blew the rain off...
