question about warranty

I want to know this too. I had to swerve to dodge this guy turning in the middle of the street. Hit the curb hard, major curb rash, also took a chunk out of my tire. Would this be covered by warranty?

You should have no issues with it voiding your warranty. The part has to be the direct cause of the problematic issue. My advice is to get with your Service Manager at your local Mazda Dealer and talk things over with him.

When it comes down to warranty, pretty much anything you do is capable of denying coverage. You are right, it comes down to how leniant dealers are. Some are notorious for screwing you while others have replaced engines / trannies on significantly modded cars. I doubt your mods have anything to do with your wheel / rotor. My advice would be to replace your stock parts (shouldn't take you over an hour) and take it to the dealer. If it were me, I would also remove the gauges but im pretty sure gauges wont void warranties.

Its better to be safe then sorry.

As for your question about your wheel kaidao. I doubt that will be covered by warranty. Thats more of an insurance issue. Can't expect mazda to warranty your car after you were in an accident.

Get the black corksport inserts. They would really have to know they were there and be looking for them to notice. My mount looks 100% unmolested

So what is the exact problem with the wheel/rotor?

well i left my driveway heard an unbearble screech, really loud sounded like something with my ball joints who knows, but it wasnt like i have a leaf stuck in the rotor. i wanna get it checked out because a friend of mine with an 08.5 heard the same noise and about 3 weeks later flipped it. his wheel and rotor came completely off (supposedly his ball joints locked up)

(burnout) Dude, you totally just made my day... lol

I smell a rat... "Locked up ball joints" by themselves won't cause a car to flip. There isn't enough movement in a ball joint to cause a whole lot of noise, especially in a practically new vehicle.

Flipped his car because of the ball joints? Now the wheel and rotor coming off? That is all very strange and sounds like someone was working on that car and didnt put something back together correctly. That is one of the strangest things I have read on here so far, barring the ammount of Hydro locks...

While all this warranty talk is going on, I wanted to ask if something as innocuous as painting my brake calipers red would void any warranty?? Let me know what you think...

PS: I am also going to ask my local dealer and see what he says ;)

would an intake and a motor mount void something wrong with my wheel/rotor? or depends on the dealer??

It can void your warranty related to motor issues, but not a wheel/ rotor issue. They have to be able to prove that the items installed lead to the issue with the car. If the items installed have nothing to do with the warranty issue then they can not void your warranty completely.

Absolutely NOT..... This is a problem you causes and now you must deal with. If the suspension was screwed up from a defective part then it would be covered, but hitting the curb caused the damage.

Unfortunatly you should have got the guys plate # and gone after his insurance to pay for the damage.
