question about our stock battery

That crappy POS lasted < 2yrs for me. Pick any battery from walmart and it would be better than that POS. Try to get one with as much Cold cranking amps as much as possible. U will notice that you can fit a larger battery in that area, so take measurements and make FULL use of it! 
As someone suggested, I'd have to say look for the one with the most CCA and you'll be much better that the OE battery that come with the P5.
As for how long it is really depends on how much power you're drawing from it (ie. amps, speakers, accessories such as neons, ect..) If you're not running any EXTRA per say you should be OK to get a long life outta ur battery. If you're into performance and have the heavy pounding system setup (ICE) then you wanna make sure that you have th battery power to support it. Optima red-top's are good for an improvement over the OE but if you're really need a performance battery go with the yellow-top. You will notice a drastic difference, again, if you're running all the accessories, ie. your lights won't dim as much at each strike of that deep bass.

I could help you out if your post wasn't typed so strangely. Are you asking about gas mileage and batteries? But it dosen't matter is terms of gas mileage and what battery you have. If your worried about gas mileage, then just ease off the gas pedal and make sure that you keep up with tune-ups and oil changes. Hope this helps.
I just replaced the battery in my wifes P5 today ( car is three years and one month old ) .....it was starting to get weak and I went into a store and left my lights on for about 20 minutes...when I came back out I had to push start it.
something I found out about my stock battery is that it was NOT a maintenance free battery....I just never noticed the plugs on the top of the battery before. IF your's has them....take the time to check the water level and add DEMIN water if need be....I took the plugs out and found out that the water level was about two inches low....and inspecting inside with a flashlight I could see the build up on the plates was so thick that it was just a short matter of time before it shorted out....SO, I went down to WALLY WORLD and got the recommended battery with their 2 year replacement and 6 year prorated.

well i was tired as hell when i thought hmmm could bad battery = a lil more gas usage lol now that i think about it im a dumb ass.. lol i know what is some what makin my gas milage go down. i need new tires and balnace my from tires and get an alighnment 15.5k miles

astral came over to my place friday night becasue he needed a breaker bar to get the bolts off his roll-bar so he could install his new red-top. his battery was only 1 yr 8 months and his was having trouble. mine is 2 yrs 1 month and it is not bad. i have drainned it a couple times and usually have my system on pretty loud......i due get light dimming when the bass hits hard, but have had that for some time.
i guess I will be able to make it till next winter, unless i run into any trouble before that......
optima's are nice but you can get your cheep battery from walmart and Napa and it will probably have more CCA's than the stock battery......

My battery was a little flat when I test drove the car, and I asked them to fix it or put in a new battery...guess they fixed it. My car cranks slow when the temps get into the teens, but otherwise it just fires right up. I'll have to pry the caps off and take a look.
BTW, do you have to remove the strut bar to get at the caps?

Hey, I noticed the same thing happens to my OEM battery in the cold mornings. Temps have been around single to teens in the morning and the crank takes longer then normal to turn over.
Anyways, I was thinking about a Optima battery myself. Should I be fine with whatever battery that can fit into the P5? My car is stock everything pretty much.

well i had to just replace my stock battery last week. went to turn on the car and nothing, it was below 20 deg and i hadnt left anyhing on in the car to drain it. it had been really slowing down in the mornings when it was tryign to turn the motor over. got a yellow top and its been working fine
