Question about lowering

I have a new p5 and i would like to know does it look good if i don't lower my p5 and then add lip or mod onto my car?

It's about your own taste. Adding a lip while kinda make the car look like it's lowered! Personally, I've learned first hand to stay away from lowering cars in Canada, especially when you drive them in winter.

Chuyler - Typically, lowering springs are stiffer rates than stock springs. This means ride comfort is affected no matter what! I used to own a 2001 civic that I lowered 1.3" and it was noteciable! It really rode like a tank but the body roll was non-existent.

I'm lowered 1.5" f&r. It's actually lower at the rear by a lot due to the fact that it's a wagon. I'd venture a guess that I'm 1.5" drop f and 1.8" drop rear.

It definitely rides harder but the handling is beautiful. I was planning on getting a lip but just yesterday, I scrapped coming out of a parking lot while crawling. Nothing I could do about it. So, if I get a lip, it's going to be urethane as it would be really unfortunate if an FG lip shattered within the first week.

I just lowered my P5 this weekend with Eibach's (1.4f/1.2r) and 42mm offset rims....and to be honest..I can not tell a ride difference. I even commute 100 mile to work..Peace!

do you guys think a 2" drop would be too much for daily driving conditions? or should i just go w/ the 1.5"??

I love 1.5. It's just perfect. 2 ventures into wheel tuck territory and that's too much for me.

Anyone know anything about airbag suspension? From what I understand, that's more for "lowriders" and not for performance. It would sure be cool to be able to drop your car 2" and raise it back to stock for parking lots, etc. I would guess the car would ride like a big old Lincoln or something, though...not exactly sporty.

I am lowered 2 inches with SPool springs, and ride is nice. I have 18s' and I do not tuck tire, close on the front, but I drive it daily. Lowering springs are purely taste. I have lowered every vehicle I have owned, just like a stiffer ride and handling changes. To each his own. All depends on what kind of springs you decide to go with. Good luck. Later

yellow tint, very tastefull, I thought i was seeing things until i checked your sig. Tell me you have yellow sunglasses to match :)

Do they make blue?

I'm lowered 2" with Ground Controls, it's an o.k. ride in the passenger & driver seats, but from what I hear the back is pretty rough. Anyway here's a pic.

Im dropped 1.75" front and rear with Skunk2 coilovers. If i had done a 2" drop with the stock 16" rims the front wheel wouldve been just below the lip of the wheel well. The rear wheel has about .5" tucked inside right now. Im considerin lowerin the front a lil more, but I take turns kinda fast so im bound to rub if it goes much lower.

No camber problems with my Eibach's at 1.4/1.2, nor damper problems either, although I'd suspect that a2" drop would be pushing the limits of both...Peace!

Allman - Did you have camber problems on your civic? I remember that dropping my civic with H&R(1.3") I had horrible negative camber in the rear.

what does the chamber problem do? effect tire wear? is it bad? I haver heard of chamber plates and all but how often do people put them on?
