Protege5: Harder, not Smarter!

Ok...so these tires gotta go for the rainy season. MADDDD slippery.

I'm gonna strip and paint my stockers up.

Torn between white and gold!?!?!? Don't wanna paint them black since the rota's are already black(sh) and I want something different.

Coilovers halfway installed.

I got 3 of them on today in a massive rain shower...lucky I didn't drown while doing it lol

I'll put the other one on, then measure how far I want it to go down, then you gotta pull all the hubs off again...(gah...painnnn in the assss)
and adjust accordingly. At least then, I can measure the lengths and write em down so when I do the switch from my 15 to 16"'s and then back again I can get them the correct height the first time.

That ugly gap has nowhere to hide!

sidenote..yes I weighed my current struts/springs versus the coilovers. Front's save 7 pounds each, and the rears save 5 pounds each. 24 pounds shaved I likey!

Managed to have the jack fall over today while doing the rear coils, luckily I had a second one under the car, it bent the first jack in half and f'd up the underside of my sideskirts when it landed on the second jack.

The car weighs so little both of the rear wheels come up evenly when I jack up 1 rear corner....I was just walking over going WTF at the other side when it slid sideways. so I went and bought a low rolling jack to use now...

remember....2 jackstands save lives...

jackstands.....remember the jackstands. I dropped my car using the OEM jack (that scissor P.O.S....) on the driver-side front, right on the damn rotor.

Replaced rotor then had to replace wheel bearing.....then......control arm......just never stops.....

Glad to hear about the coilovers. Pics?

You can see the damage from the hood flying off 200 feet into the air. Yea...yea...I know new hood in the works. Its just so damn cold outside!!!

(lol2)

Before....

After....yea...I know..lol

Man...that looks super badass!!! Makes me want to ditch the 18's, get some 16's with a low profile tires and drop it more

that looks like a track monster dude! I like the look of 16's on fatty-tires.....gives that "bulldog" effect.

Keep doin what your doin mane! It's turning out great!

It finally happened, pulled over by law enforcement after 4 years. I was driving home from school, passing through an intersection, police car in the front line as I went past him. As soon as I passed, he flicked the lights and I pulled over. I can see him smirking as he walks up to see me, palms out on the wheel. He explains he pulled me over because I have no side mirrors. "You know you have no side mirrors? Why did you take them off?" *I paused a few seconds..."better gas mileage..." I replied "The RCW does not specify whether mirrors need to be exterior or interior, in fact the wording is "left side of the vehicle"" *I gesture at the 5 panel mirror*

He seemed taken aback I knew so much about the law and went to check my registration in his car. He came back 2 minutes later, asked if he could sit in my car. Frankly, I think he just wanted to sit in it from the beginning as he had a huge grin plastered on his face when he sat down in the Recaro and gripped the Sparco wheel. He peered up at the 5 panel mirrors..."wow, you can see everything, very surprised, you have a good day now"

i second and third what everyone else said. that's freaking awesome. you can wear the "i got pulled over by law enforcement" badge with honor...

seriously though, that's quite neat. if they check cameras one day and come across that, im sure he's going to have a deal of explaining to do :)
