Hi folks,
I've been busy replacing the engine in my 2002 sp20 (protege) due to a piston shot through the block.
I got the old engine out and have put the new one in, and I have around 4 of the main bolts that join the trans and engine together. I can feel the bolts between the torque converter and flywheel have come through the holes on the flywheel side, the engine and trans are well mated.
Now I can't manually turn the crank to do up the nuts on the flywheel / torque converter. I could manually turn the engine before I put it in however.. The torque converter seemed seated to me before I dropped the engine in (with the two flattish bits on the shaft clicking into place) perhaps it fell out slightly when I was putting the engine in?
The passenger side (drive side in the us) wheel seems difficult to spin which is odd? I don't have the drive shaft in on the other side yet.
I am thinking I need to rip the engine out again and try and seat the torque converter again, anyone have any other experience / ideas?
Thanks
T.
