Protege 5 with VW engine

In the last few months my Pro-5 has began making some sort of sqeeky noise when i accelerate. Sounds funny but it sounds almost exactly like a VW Beetle engine. The sound goes away after the car tachs over 3.5-4000. Belt, engine issue, bearing? Help...

probably the belt. My car did that a while ago. It was cause the belt was NOT completely on the track. I don't know how it got off cause I've never taken it off or replaced it before. I replaced it and no more squeakiness!
