OK. I did order an OEM gasket. I'll see what kind of shape the original is in. Also, check out the painted intake. I did put the K&N on instead of the Flea Bay one. I also put pics of the mount, and the padding I made out of extra tubing for the master cylinder.

ALSO...HERE'S THE LAMIN-X FOR THE HEADLIGHTS AND FOG LIGHTS. IT'S THE CHARCOL COLOR, AND CAME OUT PRETTY CLEAN!
YES!! PAINT JOB IS ON THE MENU!! ITS ALL PART OF THE PLAN, JUST DOING WHAT I CAN NOW.

wait im missing something here.... my car doesnt have the side markers behind the wheel >.< (is it a year thing?)

just one less thing for me to tint i guess!
 
Can anyone point me to the headlight housing "how to" thread? I'm becoming less happy with the Lamin-X, and think I will just paint the housing. I've searched up and down, but can only find people talking about it.

You have an 02...02.5, 03 and 03.5 P5's came with the side markers in the fender.

Have fun and I used a satin black for mine...nice middle of the road between flat and glossy.

Nah...it's not necessary. I use Krylon Fusion...scuffed the chrome up a bit but honestly I don't even think that's necessary.
 
Another question...

I am going with an OBX header, and probably a magnaflow cat. I really like the looks of the megan cat back system, but people seem to rave about the racing beat system. I would like some opinions between the two. So far, just sound seems to be the big difference.

Also, once I have the OBX, high flow cat, and cat back system, is there anything else I need to complete that?

A lot do rave about the RB for 1) build quality and 2) no drone but some complain that the RB isn't enough in the noise dept so.... Don't know much about the Megan's quality but from what I've read it is louder, couple that with the header and a high flow cat you may hate driving in the car? Of course that depends on your tolerance, how long your commute is, do you mind yelling at the passenger to have a conversation? If you haven't already, check out the exhaust thread in the P5 section. There are some nice vids in there of different set-ups. Obviously not the same as hearing it in person but will give you an idea. As for exhausts, have you looked into the Magnaflow? It is very nice as well and people really seem to like it.

As for your other question, you'll be good to go with those items.
 
I'm definitely not into a super loud exhaust. I may even add an additional resonator to help quiet it down a bit. It sounds like the RB set up might be the way to go...
 
If you don't want it loud, megan is NOT the way to go. I would give RB a try... sounds like it might be the quietest not stock muffler.
 
I wanted something to fill the gap in the bumper cutout and nothing too ricey. Sound was no real issue for me, as I really don't care lol. So I went with the RB catback and it was perfect without me realizing it. Not only is it just a little louder than stock, but it fills the cutout perfectly.
 
DAMN! The Megan is half price compared to the RB...Maybe if I double up on the resonator it would quite down the Megan...

Or, do you guys know where to get a nice deal on the RB??
 
I honestly would not use that intake for the simple fact that a friend of mine had the same one and the intake ended up rubbing against the master cylinder, and a piece of the intake ended up inside his motor and locked it up, you said you have around 150,xxx miles are all your motor mounts in good condition??? Have a friend power brake the car and see if your intake comes in contact with the master cylinder....(.02)

OK...so after a can of paint, and about two weeks of screwing around with the Ebay Special SRI, I finally canned it. I can't deal with the knocking on the MC. I just bit the bullet and ordered one of these...

It also has the mount for the cylenoid purge valve, so that won't just hang anymore...

Bad news is that was $220 from the "rims" fund (ripped)...

Well...the Lamin-X didn't work so well on the rear lights. The good news is that my black Alteza tails came in yesterday. They look really nice! I'll add a pic in a few.
