OK...so after a can of paint, and about two weeks of screwing around with the Ebay Special SRI, I finally canned it. I can't deal with the knocking on the MC. I just bit the bullet and ordered one of these...

well i was going to get the ebay intake like stated in the beginning of this thread, but actually not even 3 days later, someone on here put an AEM SRI and Progress springs up for sale and failed to post pics.... then i found it on craigslist and bought BOTH for $100!!!
i am very very pleased with the amout of open room the engine bay has and it gives a nice sound when you step on the gas a little more then usual, and no CEL!

Jigga...nice score!!!(mj)

yeah, tint the new tails a tad

how much?
I found the Alteza's for $100 shipped on Ebay. Just bit the bullet and did it. I don't think I'm going to tint these, they look great and already have a black background. I just don't want the unnecessary attention from the (five-0). I will, however, change the yellow blinker bulbs to clear.

I had the black alteezas on my car for awhile too and liked them. Only reason I don't anymore is I got too damn good of a deal on some used JDM tails. :D Def. swap out those amber bulbs and you could always do some smoked vinyl overlays. ;)

^ NICE! I do have lamin-x for the tails, but it seems impossible to install. I've tried about 3 times with no luck. I think I'm going to return them. If I decide to tint, it may just be one coat of nightshade...

I can see that...the shape of the lights must be a pita to try and wrap. The overlays I had were easy enough to install and since you have the lamin-x you could cut the circles out for the signal and reverse lights.

Yeah...I just can't get the Lamin-X to lay down with all the curves of the lights. I'll probably just leave them. I will be baking my headlights soon so I can paint those black too. I think that will look nice.

So...I spared my co-workers today because I have a caugh and a runny nose. I decided to do the headlight mod and ditch the lamin-x on the headlights. So far, so good! It's going to look way better!

DONE!! A good 3 hours. Gonna go get a headlight restore, then I'll post pics. That was pleasantly easy!

Easier than most think. Should have thrown some projectors in while they were open ;)

I'm happy with the way this turned out, and the restoration really helps too. Glad to get rid of the lamin-x for sure.

So, next on the list is going to be one of three things...whichever comes first: rims, full exhaust (damnit! just missed an RB cat back in the FS section), or paint.

So, I've been wondering about my roof rack. Totally pointless on the Protege5 (for me anyway). I was digging around in the back, cleaning things up a bit and realized that there is a kit that will allow the removal of the roof rack! SWEET! Roof rack gone as of this morning!
