problems with my new mazda 6

This is an unrelated comment but so your car is a manual transmission and your dashboard display tells you in what gear you're in as you're shifting? That's pretty cool. Mine doesn't do that (USA), only the automatic transmission ones do.

Yes as you say. it`s a display that shows what gear im in and a arrow pointing up if the car wants me to shift upp and a arrow down if it wants me to shift down. And yes it`s a "real" manual transmission.

But now back to topic :)(eekdance)

Have you tried contacting your dealership? First time I've heard this happening to Mazda's new diesel engine.

So, I heard the same thing in my gas 3rd gen M6 (manual). Turn off your engine and shift your gears from 4th to 3rd (or in the center position from closest to far from you cause I don't know how the diesel is geared). Do you still hear the popping noise? If you do then you are like me and the leather boot for the gear shift is just stiff and needs time to soften up or break-in. Hope this is what your hearing cause it means no mechanical problems, just new leather!!! Zoom zoom...

Do you even know what compressor surge is?

Yes i have.

They said it was the wastegate doing its job, and nothing is wrong but i think they are bulshittin me.

Thats why i want other dieselowners to tell me if they have the same sound.

What do you think ?

There is no sounds of compressor surge in your video. Even when i listened to it a few times in 720P. Compressor surge has a similar sound, but much higher pitched and more repetitive within each cycle of compressor bump.

The sound your SkyA-D is producing is simply the BPV doing its job and rerouting pressurized flow back into the intake. Though every manufacturer have tried their best to eliminate such sounds using a BPV and a restrictive chambered intake, it cannot be totally cancelled. As you already know. Release of anything high pressured can generate a great amount of noise.

I assume this only happens when you let off the throttle? If you hear any sudden, short, and loud chirps or wooshes while in boost, then that's something to worry about. Even worse if it is a sudden metallic noise.

.

What is bpv ?

The sound only comes when i press down the clutch.

The sound does not come when i only lift my foot from the gas pedal

The valve does the same thing while you're shifting a manual transmission in order to keep the turbo spinning, so I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the BPV as the source of your "noise".

I listened to your video several times and have come to the same conclusion as "No Pistons", there is nothing wrong with your vehicle. Perhaps Subaru does a slightly better job of quashing BPV noise, but again they're not diesel powered turbocharged engines, and their BPV's are said to be very good.

I'd be the first to say many dealer service departments will make up all kind of BS to avoid performing their warranty obligation, but in this case, they're right, there's nothing wrong with your car. I'd be happy to have it.

Just my two cents.

Maybe you are right. I dont know.

One more thing i notice is that when i press down the clutch the pedal vibraying a little.

I also noticed that when im standing still with the engine turned on and pressing down the clutch in and upp in and upp there is a sound change between when the clutch is pressed down or realesed.

Not to be roud, but you should be able do drive another wagon in your part of he world with the exact configuration as yours. Maybe doing that will convince you your wagon is operaing as designed, to use words I myself loathe hearing when I have a real problem. Maybe this is not the vehicle for you. One thing's for sure, you've exhausted this thread adnauseum (no offense). You're talking to folks here with good general automotive knowledge, especially driving turbocharged vehicles, but none of us North Americans have your exact configuration, and you're having believing anything. All manuals have a different engine note when the clutch is fully depressed, but I doubt you'll beleve that either. Is there anything about your wagon that you actually like or is working well? I hope so for your sake.

Good luck.

But i dont like this sound. I want to understand what it is. And my car did not do this sound when i bought it.

How would you feel when your friends, colleagues or family ask about whats wrong with your vechicle. And you dont have a answear to them.

You have to understand that i payed around 50100 Usd (cash on the table) for this car.

And i live in northern Sweden, it`s hard to get find a dealers around here that have a similar car as me.

But i will do as you say and quit posting on this forum.

Bye.

Regards.

Daniel

Please don't stop being a part of the community here, especially based on my post. There's so much you can learn here and at another forum that is based predominately on Mazda 6's of all years, including ours. There's things you can contribute, you already have. Hardly anybody in the US has seen your configuration in person, we were lucky enough to get images of your car because you took the time.

If your problem was not there to begin with, then escalate your efforts with Mazda. If there is another dealer within reach, go there. If not, call Mazda in your country and open a case. Ask to meet with the factory representative when he comes to your dealership. You don't owe your friends and colleagues poo-poo for an explanation. They're probably jealous of your vehicle, anyway. It's your money and your car. The first thing to do is to drive another 175 HP Sky-D with manual and listen closely for what you're hearing. Maybe it was there all along, and you missed it in the "newness" of getting to know your car. I don't know, man.

Sure, you can go, but that's not the spirit of what I posted. You may have taken it that way. I'm probably one the least politically correct people out there, but even so, would you let one person hold that much power over your actions? I woudn't, no way.
