earlier today my exhaust came apart at the high flo cat.. took it to meineke and they welded it together.. will it be okay??

im sure it will recover, it might take ahwile tho.... yes it will be fine if they welded it good. Do you have a flex pipe on your system?

is that normal for the cat to come apart like that or maybe a hit something ??

Did it crack in the center or did the bolts go missing? When I first installed my exhaust I was loosing bolts left and right I finally installed lock washers and added lock tight to the threads and haven't lost a bolt since. The bolts on the turbo to s-pipe that's another story!!! I think it has to do with the stiffer motor mounts and no flex pipe. the popping is was mostly an exhaust leak

yes it has the flex pipe that it comes with.. also it cracked in the middle but it looks like it just came apart from the cat.

Yours is the first I have heard of doing that. I have had mine since the original group buy when it came out without a problem. If they welded it properly it should be fine though.

I forgot all about the my Vibrant even having a flex. s***.

hangs down too low at the S bend where there is plenty of room to tuck it up inside the provided space.

will i still have my popping and gurgle sound?

I got the vibrant aswell. changed out my manifold so had to pull the turbo with it. when I put back together it made some crazy noises at start up till that busted up flange warmed up and expanded. replaced flange with 6 dollar one from autozone to solve the problem. so id check your connecting points if the weld didnt fix it

Mine pops and gurgles a lot too. I thought it was due to the rich tune? Guess I better check for leaks...and yea mine is totally rustified thanks to PA winter.

I know what ya mean about the rich fuel but this was a whole new sound.thought i had destroyed somthin for a sec. then talked to a friend that explained it to me. i would of never thought somthing like a sucky flange could make such an impact.

gotta love that road salt!

you need engine mounts and urethane exhaust hangers. if you're the original owner, vibrant has a 5 year limited warranty from what it says on their website.

I got the corksport Urethane hangars and some people complain about it hanging low at the muffler, but mine is so damn close I think it burned my lip a little bit LOL. It was actually rubbing when it was first installed but I bent the metal hangar down a little.

I received this from a Vibrant rep:
"In response, this is a commonly asked question and is misunderstood by many. Our exhaust systems are constructed from T304 stainless steel which is one of the highest grades of stainless you can find. Be that as it may, everyday exposure to the elements over time can cause T304 stainless steel to develop iron particles on the pipe that rust; which shouldnt be mistaken as penetrating rust. With T304, the surface oxidation / iron particles that you see will not penetrate the pipe whereas pipe that is NOT stainless steel will be subjected to actual penetrating rust after exposure to the elements."

Mine was rubbing on the bumper lip as well. Piled up some foam pads on the edge of the heat shield above the muffler. The pads press down lightly on top of the muffler. Used Kartboy hangers up front for clearance over the cross member and stock hangers on the muffler which create more space from the bumper.

Not to be all negative about it...

Very noticeable power increase over stock.
Sounds good with silencer in (otherwise too loud for me).
Looks nice with perfect angle and protrusion of muffler tip.

I just had my Vibrant installed yesterday and since you nicely mentioned the silencer, I have a question. Does the silencer reduce any horsepower at all or is it purely just to muffle the sound? Also is it easier to take off than I think? I took off the bolt in there but it wont budge when I pull on it.
