Would it be easier just to save up and buy the hiboost kit for my p5 just so I know I'm getting everything that I'm supposed to be getting, or would it be easier to piece together a custom turbo kit? I figure that It's all going to escentially cost the same, it's just a couple things: I'm not exactly looking for a kit thats going to push my car to it's max, I'm just looking for a little more power with safety and reliability. Also, if I could find a used mazdaspeed protege setup would that even be worth it? I know a lot of people would just say buy the mazdaspeed, but I love my little sport wagon too much. Keep in mind that I will be having a pro installing all of these components so that's going to cost a pretty penny as well. If anyone feels like leaving a suggestion that would be awesome. Thanks :)

A proper custom kit will cost you 4000-5000 dollars. Thats all custom made, one off pieces. I had a quote of 5000 dollars to have one made by a shop here. That is custom header, custom intercooler piping and everything in between. This is from a very reputable shop

yeah man my kit was about $4500 for the basic kit all custom. i thought it was worth the extra money, i've had more people poop on themselves when they saw what i had under the hood. anybody can go get a prefab kit but then everybody else has the same thing, its like having a civic. well thats just my two cents, i hope you go boosted one day and good luck

Me? I would go hi-boost. Tested and found reliable. And from what i hear - Juan answers the questions and helps you.

I'd go for the hiboost kit if you don't feel like having your car nonworking for a while waiting for custom stuff. The hiboost kit is very nice
