Post Pictures of Your CX-5 Mods, Upgrades and Accessories!

Dang cool thread. I’ll get there someday Ya’ll have some kick ass mods. Really want to replace the bose amp and speakers with a dsp system that integrates with the OEM controls. I tried upgrading the speakers and tweeters, used different brands like kicker, infinity reference and powerbass 2 ohm, all sounded terrible. Seems the bose amp does crossover, eq and time alignment. Ended up putting the oe speakers back and just adding the jbl hub sub. I kept the bose sub working, velcroed it to the rubber mat in the cargo. It seems to supply mid bass more than low bass. Really, it’s pretty satisfying just not that super level of clarity and soundstage of those super sound quality systems. Anyone seen or done a cx5 sound quality system with dsp that works with the oem controls?

On my 2024 CX-5, I added insulation where the sub is located. Now , the bass is very boomy. I was hoping for a more sharp solid bass. I now have to lower the bass when listening to music at lower volume.

On my CX-9, I added some cheap sound deadening material on the sub enclosure, and added poly fill (pillow stuffing) inside the sub. Here's a link to the write up I compiled from other members, with pictures and instructions:

It really tightens up the bass. Sound is much cleaner. Give it a try!

I have 196 mil of insulation with adhesive. Only thing missing is Poly Fill. That'll be next.

New to us 2017 Touring, just swapped out the manual rear view mirror with the Mazda frameless auto dimming Homelink mirror. Took a couple hours, but like the result. The mirror is slightly wider, no more garage door opener hanging down, and cool garage door binking indicators for door going up/down/stop on the mirror I haven’t seen before.

CarPlay mod is probably next.

Looking for more ideas about adding Tech pkg or higher trim level features. Auto headlight mod? Auto rain sensing wiper mod? Etc
