Possible paint job

2000 DX
Here is an idea I just thought of. Let me know whatcha think (for critique/feedback purposes).

First off, let me give you some background information about my car and my ideas for it. I have an Emerald Green Mica Protege sedan DX model. I realistically have 2 color themes: silver and black. On the outside of my car Im going to have silver graphics. On the front will be black because of the Sport20 grille and mesh in both the upper and lower grilles. Plus, the wheels Im going to get will be gloss black with hypersilver center design. Im going to paint the calipers and drums silver to match the graphics and my rotor hubs black to match the wheels and grille. Here is my idea:

I paint my new fiberglass hood down the middle the silver color and leave the outsides green. Then I paint my hood bonnet green to match the sides of the hood and the rest of the car. Maybe, I paint the center of my spoiler silver and leave the sides green too.... What do you all think? Can someone photoshop this for me?

The silver and black sounds good to me :) How about black rims with maybe a polished lip? They also have new ones that have black and silver on them, they look nice too. Id have to go through my SS magazined to find them though....

Heres an old pic of my car that some kid photoshopped. Its not green (he made my car red and gunmetal) but I wasnt sure if this was maybe what you were talking about

That looks like something I am talking about. The silver down the middle is exactly what I am looking for. Not sure if Im going to do the silver down over the roof because then it will look like a skunk. Specially since the line would be thick and long in the front and get progressively skinnier as it gets to my spoiler. I figure just a good paint job down the middle of the hood and then a nice sized line down the middle of my spoiler would look pretty bad ass. I mean, the first thing people would see (assuming they are driving in the opposite direction past me) would be the silver/green hood and the last would be the silver/green spoiler. The wheels are actually what Im looking for. Here is a picture of the ones I just bought today. The spokes are the gloss black and the main center part of the wheel in a 5-star design sorta is the hypersilver. I think it will go well with the color schemes I have going on. Im also going to include a picture of the graphics package I bought. That way you get the whole idea of what I am trying to accomplish, as far as the exterior goes.

The graphics arent bad. Not my kinda thing exactly but I dont think they'll look bad on your car at all. The drawing makes it all look a lot more cluttered then it will look once on the car. I like the rims. I was talking about something like those rims..who makes them?

Thank you for the (thumb). I like the rims too. Thats why I got em!!! Ive had my eye on em forever. I think they will look really good on the car. They should go along with the graphics pretty well. But in person, the graphics look way better. Im going to have to wait about a week or so before I can put them on the car. So once I get my bodykit on, I will have about a week or a week and a half to decide whether or not I want to put on the vinyl.

Oh, sorry bout that. The wheels are G-Racing Siegens in gloss black. The spokes are the gloss black and the 5 star design is hypersilver. Im about to put new KYB gas shocks/struts and Eibach springs on. Well as soon as my wheels and tires come in: NEXT WEEK!!!! WHEW HEW!!!!!!!! But not to get carried away, Im sure I'll see you around some time too. Do you still go to those Protege meets behind Chik-Filet and in front of Lowe's? Ive only been there once and was run out by the cops for loitering.

I dont think anyone goes there anymore. Last I heard they went to an Applebees. Im sure Ill be up there at some point. Check out the Fl section for where I'll be normally if Im going somewhere I'll let everyone know Im not the kind that just pops in from time to time. I like ti give all a fair warning. ;) post pics when you get your stuff :)

Well, after I get my stuff done, I want to hang out with some other Pro peeps. If the one around the Riverview/Brandon area is done with, where am I supposed to go to meet up with everyone? Did you get the Promazda.com site back up and running again? Last time I was there it said the server was down and parts were under construction. Ill be sure to check out the FLA threads and see whats up. I'll post pics as soon as I can.

Well, thats your opinion. I suppose it comes with the territory when I ask for feedback. Id like to know how come you thinK I can't pull it off? What would make it not look so good? Amuse me...

cant do it= cant pull it off= it wont look good, im sure 90% of the members will agree.

He had a custom paint job and all? Including graphics and what not? Have any pictures of his car? I think I might have an idea as to who you might be talking about, but just in case Im wrong send me a link. So you're saying that if Joka1's car looked good w/o a kit, then mine might look good with a kit?

joka1's looked good with no kit

Thing is, I already have the kit and I was going to put it on anyways. I really don't see why everyone is saying I can't pull the look off, with or without the kit. I thought silver and green would be a good contrast to one another. I didn't say I would do this for a definate, but its something I am seriously considering. Ive gotten a lot of mixed reviews about it, but a lot more good than bad. Thats why I asked someone to do a photoshop for me.

he had graphics on black paint

I'm saying it could look good without a kit...

You can. Its just an opinion. I can see where ms is comming from bit with the way Robs car looks I think it can go either way. I love robs car :) Whats important here is that you do what you want to do and not what everyone else wants you to do. yeah It would look kick ass with a kit but it will look just as good with a stock body. The stock pros arent all that bad looking they have a european look to them IMO the right mix of curves and corners. The great thing about what you are doing is that you have vinyl that you are putting on the sides where as if you had a paint job like mine on a stock body and then decided to go for a custom kit it would be difficult to match. (which im worried about I drop my car off on Monday for the artist to airbrush my hood and bumper again...cross your fingers for me PLEASE!!!) Either way its your car. I think it will work...and 90% of the members arent going to like the fact that you have graphics on a protege anyway. So there is really only one person that matters here and thats you. Thanks for bringing Robs car up Nate. I totally forgot about it. If you look in Robs threads he gets bashed for his graphics too but he wins a lot of shows and if thats what your going for then you are headed in the right direction. :)

Promazda.com is up and running again. I try to go there when I remember. There isnt much of a promazda florida anymore. long story. check out the fl section in this forum its really the only fl section i post in.

Yeah, Ive seen Rob's car. Really really nice. He's done a lotta work to it and it shows. I see why he's won so many awards. Blue always goes with black. Great color combo. Thats what I hope to see too. Hopefully the silver and green will go together as well as his blue/black did. I saw his car before cause I wanted to see how his WW Skyline spoiler looked. I was looking into buying that one for a long time before switching up and buying the MP3/MSP one. I hope to run into you sometime. I hear so much about you and it would be great to run into another emerald green Pro.

Hear a lot about me? I hope its good! :) Im sure I'll run into you somewhere like I said riverview isnt that far off from me. Its just geting me to go north that sucks. Im going to that Charity show on the 14th of Aug. You should try and come. Silver and green goes together because thats my color combo...or it was rather. I like the way it looks. Gold looks good with it too. LIke I said I had them gold pearl the car before the graphics it added a nice 'bling' to the paint. lol. Trust me I want to run into another green pro too. I was hoping to find a stock one though. So I can park next to it and really see the diference in the cars. Mygreenmazda got rid of his :( so I thought all hope was lost. lol. I see alot of the green ones around but they are all 01+ models.
