Please Help!!!

I don't know what's going on with my car right now. I have a 2000 Mazda Protege LX 1.6L. I recently put a new cold air intake system in from cosmoracing.com, drove around with the intake in for a day or so with no problems. Then put a mod chip in wiring it to the MAF sensor. After doing so, the check engine light did come on after some driving, I took the chip out and starting having problems. When I start to take off the car hesitates like crazy. No pick at all and the car gets jumpy. After about 2K rpms it starts to go then when I get to 4K rpms the car starts to hesitate again and doesn't seem like it wants to go anywhere. I don't know what to do. I am clueless. I have everyone telling me different things. I would just like to know what some people with the same car think might be the problem. Thank you so much!!!

well this has been discussed several times so look for it in the forum and ull find that alot of people had that problem thanks god mine is working perfectly never ever had a problem with it just had the maf dirty and cleaned it and that it

remove cai problem = fixed

I have the same one and what it is is that you are getting to much air, you are leaning out your car. CEL would be P0171 if i rember right (system to lean bank 1) i am back to the stock intake, but you can fix it i think by uping the fuel using as Fuel Pressure Reg, or a vacume hose you can re route if i reacall right.

Thanks guys. I did take the CAI out and put the stock system back in. Anyone using those K&N filters? How are those?

K&N are good. Pick up a recharge kit and they will last forever.
