Portland raceway track day

Ok guys, I've been holding off on this cause I've been waiting to hear back from Rob about when he's getting back, but if I wait any longer I'm not gonna be able to get it organized.

PIR is pretty much an open track, and a lot of local clubs are having track days in the next few months. Most of these clubs allow other people to run with them, so if we can get at least 5 proteges together (preferably more, as many as possible) we could almost certainly get some track time on one of those days. I would really love to get a decent contingent of Washington and BC guys together and drive down, do a few laps, and maybe make a weekend out of it. We could find a state park nearby and campout and figure out something to do for the next day.

This is an early draft of this thread, I'll be editing this first post to include new ideas and info as it becomes available, so let me know what you think and any ideas you have for other fun stuff to do in the Portland area, let me know! I'll be contacting Corksport and Horsepowerfreaks as well to see if they want to be a part of this.

Here is a link to the PIR website where you can find maps of the track, directions, schedules, and any other info you need. http://www.portlandraceway.com/default.asp

I know there was a meet just before I got up here with a lot of people from other Mazda forums in the area, so if someone want to cross link this to any other local Mazda forums, that would be great.

I am trying to form a club through PIR through some of my contacts so hopfully we wont have to join and ask to run with another club...

You are all more then welcome to stay at my place.

So do you guys think you would be interested in having a club for PIR track days, I have to pay a pretty large sum, but Its not that big of a deal

You caught my attention. I thought it was an open track for

Phoenix
Internation
Raceway

Oh well here is a free (bump)

That would be awesome if we could get a club set up, even if it's just for one or two events a year. I hope we have enough interest. I'll go post this in the Oregon section and on the BC board too.

Thanks man.... I would be all for it
Man I would be all over it.I know John and Adam would be to.So how do we go about doing it.Would it be a all Mazda club? pm me and if your coming out the 5th lets get our heads together. That would be freaking sweet for next season. Oh I'm going to link this up on some other sites to see who else might want to join up.

I'm new to all of this track day stuff, it sounds interesting for me. I want to get more active with the car scene now that I have a car that can actually compete. I had a 4 door integra before = /

Hey man, I have seen some mean 4 door integras, haha. There was one in Alabama what ran a high 11, turbocharged LS frankenstein motor. That thing was crazy.

We definitely need the whole NW in on a club if it is going to produce any respectable turnouts at meets......Anyway great idea to start a club (rockon) And I'd definitely be down for track time, but a trip to Oregon may be hard for me to pull off....See Avatar....

Yeah we need to start somewhere then maybe be able to go to let's say Pacific Raceway up by Tacoma. Who knows

I got a ticket in Oregon about 3 years ago but never paid it.

I would come but I think I would go to jail if pulled over. :(

Someone know someone who can fix it for me?

Drive down to Vancouver, leave your car at Corksport, and either I or someone will drive you over to the track. It's like 15-20 minutes from their office IIRC.

Or go stealth between a couple of cars.Or find out where you need and how much to pay and just pay the ticket
