Pioneer Announce the Avic-N3

The way I figure it, is that it would be easy to just add an extra screen or 2 (like in the visors or something, and then you should just be able to watch what you want up front. A visor screen isnt that expensive. I want mainly for the navigation, Im torn though between this and the eclipse unit.

Well i want the bypass mainly to use the navi on the fly which I have grown VERY accustomed to doing in my N1.

However, as an update the geniues at avic411.com have figured out how to bypass the unit.

Of course you have to ground the parking brake wire (or if you are lazy like me, have it hooked up and just move the parking brake one click which turns it on but def. no braking is being done at all)

but on the preout harness, there is a cellular mute wire that just needs to be moved from the pin it resides in to the pin right underneath. After you do that, just ground that wire as well and you are good to go.

Mine is being put in on tuesday so I can report back with pictures of the install and a review. However, i'll be back with some more pictures of the unit later tonight or tomorrow.

That sounds simple enough, I will prob do that to mine when I get it. I do need to be able to use the navi on the go, thats the main reasone I want this unit.

a lil video of the unit installed in someone elses car. iPod integration looks top notch. The guy did mention that the tags don't scroll however....which is fine by me, most artist/song names won't need to scroll.

i can't wait to get this. it's shipping tomorrow. i'm getting the ipod cable with it and right now i'm bidding on a xm tuner on ebay.
