Mazda 5 AV System
Ok, here are the picts of the system I put in. All was pro-installed. The security system has dual shock, microwave, and tilt sensors, as well as doors/hood switches. Left original alarm intact, so both systems work together. Also included is a half mile, 2-way paging car starter which works very well. I was a little reluctant to modify factory wiring, but after carefully locating a reputable dealer, as recommended by Pioneer Head Office, and after about 30 hours of labour, I had everything installed - Pioneer AVIC-D3, with steering wheel control module, bluetooth unit, IPOD interface, and keyless entry module to start the car by remote without a key. Had a separate DVD player with TV tuner installed in the glovebox, with remote sensor so it can be controlled from the back seats. Both headrests were replaced with leather headrests with 7" Hitachi hi-res screens. DVD player also feeds video to the Pioneer unit as an option. Sound is thru headphones or thru car speaker system. Kids can watch movie in the back while another movie can be played thru the Pioneer unit. Full IPOD controls on screen, or thru steering wheel controls. When phone calls come in, name and number is displayed on screen with option of accepting or rejecting call, with audio automatically muted. Managed to transfer my contacts to the Pioneer from my cell as well. Notice aluminum door sills (stick on) which emit a very bright blue LED light (Mazda) when doors are open. Very cool in the dark! In case anyone is wondering on total costs, including labour, came out to around$4500 Can, including the dash kit, subs with amp, security/starter, and camera in the back. One of the collest things about the Pioneer unit (apart from its low price) is the vehicle dynamics which can show acceleration G's, braking G's, side acceleration, slope, angular velocity, voltage, compass, and others! Will have picts of the wheels next week. Oh, also included a pict of the Xenon headlights I installed last winter, complete with 23kV ballasts...big difference when driving at night! I had to resize the images to get them all to fit, so not the highest resolution.
