pic of my girfriends!

after!?!?!?!
I cant.....argghhhh.....nooooooooooo....its too long.....
when did you say you would be done?

ok for some of those who asked and to post the recent events.
the main bearings and rod bearings were about $200
now before anyone asks about the main bearings, we are using main studs and changing the rods so you NEED to change the bearings.
also the gasket set for every seal and paper gasket in the engine also was ordered to the tune of $267!! damn.!! nice dent in the wallet today.
also i ordered the injectors and chose to go with 310's instead of the 280's that match stock. so as it stands 280cc on the stock rail and 310's on the secondary rail.
tomorow i am looking into ordering the cosmo 3 rotor pump which is the highest flowing pump at 255lph that nippondenso makes for in tank use and is a direct replacement for the protege.
woohhooo the pistons are shipped so in about 4-5 days they are in hand and ready to roll. :D :D :D

since the arrival of some new info to the board about the haltech F10 being programmed for additional fuel maps, i would like to take this time to include the news about a module i am working with to provide engine management.
it has the ability to (yes it does work on the P5, MP3 and others)
control a set of 4 high impedance injectors (whether its stock or upgraded cc's that we have been talking about).
Iignition control ( not advance or retard but the ENTIRE proccess) in other words we can tune it for a particular need. (FI, N/A)
and boost control.
this week will be a very interesting week because all the parts are in and we will be making progress to finish this venture:D

ill be marketing and taking order for for items.
1. basic turbo set up w/ intercooler and fmu
good at 8-9 psi max 200hp
2. same kit as above with the module in place of the FMU
3. complete 400hp kit including everything you will learn about in the video, internals , complete exhaust from manifold to tailpipe, MAF upgrade,4 extra injectors, rail and harness, clutch, pressure plate and flywheel upgrade, maybe LSD (havent decided on that yet) and every nut , bolt , flange , gasket you will need for a complete install.
oh yeah the module will come pre programmed for your particular needs but can be adjusted at any time with a lap top.

nice!

are you planning to sell those units? or it is just that unit for you?
no you can buy the module seperatly if you like.
this week ill post more info for you along with some pics.

alright there paul :p

the module that we are working with will now come with the upgraded MAF that will be 75 mm and a blow thru design. it can be mounted after the intercooler piping and be used with the stock ecu for those who are lucky enough to have a MSP with those great fuel and ignition maps. the P5's and others can also take advantage of the performance benifts of using this sensor.
it has a broader range in which it measures air flow. it can account for ALL the incoming air and the compressed air temps before going into the engine.
the unit can be used alone or along with the module being supplied by Turbo Performance Works & Modern Performance in new jersey.all orders will be taken thru me so if your interested please PM me and ill send info
the module will control fuel , ignition and an auxilary output such as boost , vics operation, additional injectors , etc.
the prices for the programmed MAF and MODULE i will list seperatly with pics of each before the install. we have not come to a set price yet but im sure in the next week we will AFTER it is tuned and i bring proven dyno results. most of the guys in jersey that are coming to the meet on the 17 th of may will be able to see it first hand.
then marketing will be easier once they have seen it in action.
today the injectors came in.
like i said earlier they are ( 4 )280cc high impedance injectors.we are making a custom rail for it . hopefully by wed it will be done.
also the turbo specs which i have not yet listed are as follows
T3 / T4 hybrid turbonetics turbocharger
.48 A/R turbine housing w/standard stage wheel
the compressor is a TO4E 57 trim comp wheel.
IT IS internally wastegated for now. i am making an adapter for the wastegate to mount before the the turbo right after the manifold. this will be done at a later time so as to see how much room we will have once we go with a larger radiator.
i did not mention but we are using the FLYIN PROTEGE cast manifold.
IMHO it is one of the best designed cast manifolds for street use. i know some like tubular but we are not building a track car at 600 hp and need the extra torque the tubulars give you to offset the larger turbo you run. for the street 15psi and occasional strip at 19 psi it will flow just fine.
the downpipe is also going to change from our original specs.
we are now going with a 2.5 inch full exhaust including high flow catco universal cat and tail pipe . no muffler. this means that the 3" layout is no more. it is not needed nor will it fit with the stock T3 integral wastegate flange.
tommorow we will start to disassemble everything in the motor and by thursday there shall be many pretty pics for everyone to see.

:D :D

true but........ like i stated............
;)

ok today im uploading the pics from the dissassembly of the stock motor. some of these will be used in a manual for a do it your self engine rebiuld . it took about three hours. it included full examination of the old stock components, pics of every nut and bolt including there placement, timing marks and removal procedures. when the engine is being put back together we will also take a video which will go into detail on how it SHOULD be done correctly and can be done from your home or local shop with the proper tools and work space.

anyway it will take a couple of hours to get every thing into the computer so we will talk more then.

P.S.

great news from mazda !!!
they are developing many components for there race team that will soon be readily available thru aftermarket distributors soon. that means for every protege it will be affordable too. not just thru mazdaspeed. this after a talk with an actual japanese speaking mazda engineer that was at a car show with one of my reps i deal with. so i thought that would briten some of your day.:D after market support is coming . just need to be a little more patient.

Cars are the best babes haha.
They are always there for ya, they treat you as good as you treat them, they won't run off, and when your a mazda owner their always hot ;)

This in no way is saying cars should replace women, women are a wonderful thing, but I do love my mp3 haha. When I first bought the car I took a pic of it with me and my girlfriend, and I got a lot of, "damn, thats a nice car" haha. I'll get some pics scanned for show in a few:D

not to sound like an ass or anything Fyrespirit37, but this is perfworks thread on his engine buildup. It might be wise to ask him first.

any info on the availability of the pics? can't wait to see this.
sorry guys for some reason i havent recieved them all from the email. you see my partner at the shop has the digital camera and he was to email the file to me but for some reason beyond my control i havent gotten the file yet.
anyway as soon as i get it . ill post them. shouldnt be long. he said as soon as he gets home he'll send them.:(
thanks for being patient:)

well i hope i did this right!
there are over 300 pics . i only uploaded a few of the ones i think are relavent for any discussion. these are the ones from the dismanteling session. i will upload more of the procedure, assembly and testing done during the days to come untill we are done with the project which looks like it will be by thursday !!

/members/perfworks/picture 049.jpg
notice the nice size head port for the intake manifold . the ports are raised from the factory for great air flow & velocity after the VTCS plates and ready for boost!!

/members/perfworks/picture 050.jpg
here you can see the the outline of the stock intake manifold gasket and get an idea of how we are going to match the two intake ports for a smooth transition. i will post pics after the porting to show a difference with the new gasket

/members/perfworks/picture 052.jpg
here you can see that even though we have done this many times, i like to stamp some alignment marks for quick and hassle free installation later

/members/perfworks/picture 057.jpg
the timing cover off and the FS EXPOSED!

/members/perfworks/picture 055.jpg
and stamping on the cam gears as well.:D
