Perfect Power PRS8 Standalone

Alright, a new PRS8 unit is on the way! Yeah, I could be upset, but why waste time now when things are being rectified?
Cool deal. A new one is better than refurbished anyday of the week, and twice on Sundays...

I was waiting for an update on this, only I was hoping that you got the darn thing back...

Wouldn't it be something if the radiator and the PRS both showed up today?!
Yes it would...

PS - The mounts are in...My arms hurt liek heck becuase of the back one!

Hahaha! Suck it up soldier! You should meet up with another protege owner, and then take turns watching your engines as you rev. See which one doesn't move. I was amazed as were my friends at how still my engine was.

I don't doubt that. I can feel the difference already, just from down shifting and everything else.

I'm glad I did the number 3 mount from the MSP, mine was torn completely through. The toehrs were intact. I think yours was the exact opposite.

While I was refilling my radiator, FedEx came and dropped off my brand new PRS8 unit! Christmas in March! Soon!

Now that I am back from the state meet, I can concentrate on getting this thing going. I discovered an exhaust leak the other day that I need to fix. Driving with an FMU, when I hit the throttle, too much fuel is dumped in an instant that kills my off the line response. I bog a little. After that, I hit the gas, and the A/F ratio goes uniform until the upper RPM's. There, I am.... I'M RICH BIYATCH!! (honk, honk). Now I understand why my accelleration sux up top. When I hit like 4500 RPM's, my A/F ratio goes below 10, so I press the pedal a little more, and my boost goes back to 8 PSI and my A/F starts going up towards 11, but then it doesn't! This makes my accelleration in higher RPM's very slow!

All of what I explained above is why I can't wait to install something (PRS8) that will control my fuel a lot better than that fluctuating FMU! Don't get me wrong. At lower boost, the FMU would be pretty good. For what I want, it sux!

Well, I found an exhaust leak that I fixed, and turned the RRFPR down a little to keep me out of the 9's in A/F ratio so now all the low-end power is back! Low-Mid 11's (and low 12's) in A/F ratio is what I have now! Now that this is fixed:

Ok, with the new PRS8 unit I got the Development CD with all the software, and install/technical manuals. Over the next few weeks, I will be looking at the manuals, and getting a good idea on how I will do my wiring over the next few weeks with Nick's help. These new manuals are a hell of a lot better than the older ones, and there are even new ones. I'm waiting on a couple of more items, and then I can install this bad boy. :D I'll keep this thread updated.

Alright, the latest...

I powered up my new unit tonight at work, and behold, the hardware version in 53! Damn, there have been some revisions since version 37 (which the last unit was). I had no communications problems this time at all! Flawless!! The more I study these manuals, the more this makes sense to me. I'm excited as hell!
