Passenger side engine mount.....

My upper engine mount passenger side blew out over the weekend...hydraulic fluid all over the place!
I don't know which got me more upset ....the mess it made in my very clean engine bay, or the money I have to spend to repair it.
I have done a little looking around, and I starting to think I should replace all of the mounts, trans, engine, etc...
I have looked at "Protege garage" and a couple other of this site's sponsors. Not sure which set up is the best for me.
I am definately looking for light wieght! I don't want to add any un needed wieght to the vehicle.
What do you guys thinks? Which ones are considered the best?

I got my passenger mount and driver side mount from Street Unit, it has the 68 duro ( softest I've seen from any vendor) and its billet...It does have a fair amount of vibration BUT the car feel ALOT "crisper". I have front and rear also I just can't remember who from...

What fluid was spit out from the mount?

when mine ripped it was just torn rubber. I would stick with OEM replacement unless u plan on maybe tracking the car. The added vibration is not worth the throttle repsonse IMHO.

I had Medievil and AWR mounts Hated both of em. and bother were full sets.

If you are replacing the side mount I would suggest the others, the only one I had issues with was the rear mount its just akward to get to.

Some not all of the p5's passenger mounts are fluid filled. What type of fluid it is beats me. My old p5 had one that sprewed itsguts out as well. I think the Canuk p5's are fluid filled.

This is debateable bc all of my p5s have been cdn cars, but only 2 ripped mounts. Wierd tho.

perhaps the motor mount in my old p5 was replaced with a fluid filled one.. I don't know for certain but the one that did let go was fluid filled. Now I've never see a fuild filled one at any local auto parts store.

Rock Auto doesn't list a fluid filled for OEM replacement. Like others have said, I would go with OEM replacement unless you track the car.

freal, yea I have never seen one. I actually went out @ lunch to look @ mine and its just that plan rubber one.

I know for sure make sure when you are replacing it you note where the ground wire is. Caused issues by me putting it on the wrong bolt.

Good call on the ground wire.....yeah I think the fluid in it must be some sort of hydraulic fluid. It smells of it. AND is a b**** to clean up. HAd to use Brake cleaner. That stuff will eat through anything. like ....paint for instance :)
