parking brake

So I was teaching my brother to drive stick... Seeing as how he has to drive a stick wrangled home from downtown chicago tomorrow morning and he left my parking brake on for about a mile ... I just replaced the front brake pads and rotors... Please tell me my parking brake in the 2003 mp5 only engages the back brakes...
They were getting replaced soon anyways...

The handbrake only engages the rears, it is the only way to lock only the rear tires when you want to go sideways

I don't know why you would want to go sideways in a front wheel drive car !!! But thanks so much I was super worried I screwed up the new parts!

Just check for 'coloring' or burnt paint on the calipers indicating a very high heat event.

High heat weakens metal, melts the grease lubing the rear caliper pins, and makes the seals 'brittle'.

Do a very good brake flush when you do the rear brakes.
