I know this has probably been talked about before but does anyone know any pro tuners in PA or in MD that can tune my 08 MS3?

This is right off of our website. They may not ALL tune MS3s, but it is a good place to start.

CBRD is a good shop but ive been calling them for the last 2 weeks and they wont answer my calls or return them. Ive been wondering if they protune for the MS3 but still havnt gotten an asnwer.

EDIT!!!!

Ive also called Agile, Atlantic Motorsports, Altered, and Slowboy Racing and none of them protune the speed 3's yet, but some said they would get back to me and see if they would start. Ive still been waiting for CBRD to get back to me with no luck. Also I've been working with Innovative-Motorworks.com about tuning my car on Accessrace. Their tuners John Kerr and Derick Robinson are great guys and are looking forward to tune it for 350 no matter how long it takes.

I live about 15 min from CBRD and a friend of mine has known those guys for several years on a personal level. I too have sent them emails, but with no responses. Im interested about what they say. They do amazing work. Their time attack evo is sick. i believe its over 750HP on pump gas lol.

I went in to CBRD and they told me they didnt want to purchase the protune license and they didnt know the limits of the motor and really didnt show much interest. I also asked if they would tune it on access race but once again he said he didnt know the limits. I'm purchasing the cobb accessport in the next couple of days and I'm going to talk more in depth with innovative-motorworks.

well thats a shame. I know they do great work and honestly i think they would be suprised at how much business they could bring in if they spent the extra money and time to learn about our cars. Oh well. Keep me posted about anything you find!

so at this point. every one that does ap tunning in our area is giving up the proverbial middle finger and backing away haha. shoulda bought a stand back and called P3........damn

Try Andy at Veroicious Motorsports. I was very happy with his Cobb protune on my last car.

I'm not sure why so many shops are afraid of this car... I think a lot wait for everyone else to do something before they step up.

There is a fellow that used to be in Buffalo and i heard he is tuning out of Rochester NY also who is pro tune Cobbster. Check Innovative tuning. I can't use him because my son in law is a tuner. But my boy says he is good. I think his name is Mike. i spoke with him way way back when he sold Cobb but did not have the pro tuner licensing. Just a thought.

well ERIC your my new favorite forum member. I just got a hold of mike at innovative tuning and sent him my detailed MOD list and this is what he sent back to me.

Devin,

I'm familiar with the car and have tuned the Speed Miata and Speed 6 before on other systems, but have not tuned a Speed 3 as of yet. I imagine it's very similar to the Speed 6. We're a Cobb Pro Tuner for Subaru and Mitsubishi, but haven't bought the license for Mazda at this time. However, they just released their free AccessTuner Race software for your car so we can tune it with that.

The flat rate initial road tune would be 250 or a combination street/dyno tune would be 400.

On other MAF cars Fujita intakes have caused poor/inconsistent MAF readings, so just be aware of that. It would affect drivability and consistency of airflow readings. Also, the Greddy BOV leaks around 17 psi and above. Otherwise your mods sound good to me.

Tunes are performed by appointment so whenever you'd like to get one done just let us know and we'll find a time that works for you. I look forward to working with you,

i only disagree with him about my BOV. Im spiking 20 psi with no leaks at all. as for the fujita intake...that remains to be seen. if anyone has heard anything bad about the fujita please dont hesitate to let me know. since i have had this CAI ive had nothing but good results.

I am delighted to hear this! I hope all goes well. All tuners are opinionated for sure. Also there is a dyno available here in rochester i just found out about and will look into. Its for vettes and such. But they are 300 an hour. Maybe i should get these guys together. I wish you best luck and please stay in touch. I am excited to hear the details. feel free to pm me or just plain e mail. When you are in the area i will meet up with you and buy lunch or something when you take the car in. Awesome Mister!! Let me know if there is anything i can do to help. Maybe if you have trouble with the fujita i could meet you and let you use my AEM/ MScai. It is not hard to get it off the car and on yours. also my Forge valve is 5 minutes to swap as you probably know. Coolness.

possibly we could tune at the same time? maybe they would offer some sort of discount? id like to get a exhaust mani and front mount on before then but.....let me know what you think

I dont mind waiting for a little while to make the trip at all. It would give me time to save up some cash for the dyno and tune. plus im still rockin the stock turbo manifold and id like to save up for that too. I could bring my handycam and take some high quality video of the trip and tune/pull day. On another note...the whole thing about the fujita intake kind of makes me want to just get a new one lol. I have been told by others that fujita does have some issues. Honestly though its worked great for me. good HP jump, perfect sound, and easy to install. But, i think ill listen to the pros on this. Im not giving up my BOV though lol. With my AP i spike at 20 psi and I have had not one single issue with the greddy bov. and ive bee driving with it for 8000 miles now. any suggestions on a CAI brand thats said to be the best? preferably not a shorty cobb please.
