The p5's TB is designed to add vortex, but only during cold starts. It's the infamous "engine rattle when cold." The engine rattle is actually turbulence being intentionally generated to increase A/F mix to lower emissions before the main cat has a chance to heat up. It causes some feathering of the TB butterfly that makes the rattle.REMillers said:He is talking about the adapter that adds a vortex effect to the intake charge to help increase air/fuel mixture combustion.
And no don't know of any for the P5.
blackp5ca said:Yes..Outlaw Engineering make a throttle body spacer. I have the Throttle body and intake manifold spacer. Its approx 6mm thick, machined..not sure the material but it reduces heat soak drastically.
If I remember correctly I paid $95 usd for the kit that contained an intake spacer, TB spacer and longer bolts for the Int.Man.
Excellent Mod...well worth the money. You can actually touch the Intake Manifold after a long drive now without burning your hand.

actually the VTCS plates closest to the head port is what is causing the rattlingblynzoo said:The p5's TB is designed to add vortex, but only during cold starts.
