i can't believe you put all the rusty, dirty, sharp and otherwise nasty parts in your car! good job! :)
Well I had to move the stuff that day and I didnt have an old bed sheet or carpet to use... I looked.
In the end no damage was done and all the dirt came off with a shop vac.

Kansei, cars don't get any sexy than yours. Man it's great when car owners have taste.

If you check my avatar, that's what my P5 normally looks like. However, I'll grab some shots of it this week loaded to the hilt with the other 3 bikes it often carries on the weekends...

I love the yakima rack. I have a lot of experience working in the bike industry with various rack systems, and I think the yakima is the best solution for our car.

It's a better fit than a Thule? I used to have a Thule on my old Golf Gti and it fit like a glove. Are you saying the Yak is the same deal for the pro5? Cool!

I've got a trashcan in the back of mine right now. I can take pics if you want to see it. At some point, I had a pic of it w/ a turtle on top and I've definitely stuffed it for autox. You'd be amazed at how many orage cones you can put in/on a P5. :)

Do the Yakima racks touch the painted surface of the car? I'd like to get a rack too for my mountain bike but was going to look for a factory one.
They give you vinyl stickers to place on the metal parts that keep everything locked down, so no metal is contacting the paint. Each part has a vinyl or rubber protector. They say it won't damage the paint, but since I installed mine, I haven't taken it off to check.
