P0126 question

The wife’s 24’ CX5 2.5NA was throwing this code today. I do know that there is a TSB for this, it’s just going to be a matter of how long it’ll take for them to actually do it! Her coolant tank shows right on the “L” mark. When I remove the cap in order to try and top it off, there’s still coolant at the top of the cap. As a result it won’t take any coolant. She only has about 17k on the car.

Good news is the car is still under warranty.

You’re trying to top off the coolant through the radiator cap?! You do this through the expansion tank cap and it’s perfectly normal for the level to drop slightly to “L” over time.
