Options for replacement Mirrors?

Question for you all. My stock exterior mirrors on both sides are beat. Driver side folds on its own and I just broke the passenger side while washing the car the other day. I need replacements.

I took the broken mirror apart and found that the painted cover can be removed, as well as pretty much everything else.

With that in mind, I ordered a cheap set of new mirrors off Amazon. The mirrors say "Polyway" on them, which seems to be most protege mirrors on Amazon, regardless of brand listing.

I compared the aftermarket and OEM mirrors and was horrified to find that every single part on the aftermarket one is different...all the mounting points, clips, holes, everything. Only things that are the same are the exterior dimensions, mounting, and connector.

I went with the aftermarket mirrors because every local junkyard wants $60+ per mirror and I don't want old brittle mirrors that'll just break again. I'm fine with the aftermarket ones but I can't put my silver stock covers on and I really don't want to paint them or run them black.

I'm a little annoyed now, and I'm having to drive with no passenger mirror until I can fix this. Any suggestions? Any mirrors that fit from other cars? Quality aftermarket mirrors?

The only thing I can add is, don't buy a mirror intended for the EU and Australian markets.

The mirrors are angled differently because the driver is on right side of the car.
(It's actually the wrong side. The driver should be on the left. )

I remember a thread where a guy bought a new driver's side mirror and he could only see himself in the mirror.

It took us while to figure out what was wrong with his mirror.
The mirror would have worked for @LankyKiwi

When people think "Europe", they think steering wheel on "wrong side", Mr Bean, and everything "different". That couldn't be any less true. So, what do you think actual French and German cars are like in their home countries?

I guess I meant England, Australia and New Zealand.

I'm not sure about Scotland and Ireland?
