That's right. Wednesday night as I was taking my brother home, I decided, hey the P5 hasn't gotten out on a while, lets give it some air. So I drove the P5 to take my brother home instead of the Ford Taurus. As I was like 1 minute from my parents house, I get on Warm Springs Rd(four lane street going 50mph on a 45mph) and there is a Suburban couple hundred feet in front of me on the right hand lane, and an Oldsmobile Alero next to me in the left lane. I saw the Suburban start swirving a little but thought nothing of it really since he was quite a bit ahead of me. Well all of a sudden the Suburban swirves in front of the Alero and and SLAMS on his brakes but didnt have any brake lights working. So the Alero had to slam on his brakes and because he did, he started drifting into my lane...sucks because it put me in the situation of A) do I slam into the Alero and possibly hurt me, my brother AND the driver in the Alero or B) try to avoid the Alero and hope for the best....unfortunately for me and my little brother I went with option B. I tried pushing the breaks hard and they locked up so my car drifted into the curb, hopped the curb, flew a good 5-10 feet in the air, hit a brick wall the blocks a light poll and ditch, the ricotche off the wall and bump into the Alero which threw me back onto the curb when I slid to a stop into the corner of a street. Luckily for my brother and I, all the injuries we got were bumps and bruises and the Alero had scratches. When the cop saw the damage and heard the stories from both sides he ruled it as "no one at fault" but hell my car is officially totalled and the Alero drove away....I just wish I could find the asshole in the Suburban. Like I've said, it takes one asshole to cause an accident, even if your driving normally. Here are some pics of my Protege :(

Damn that sucks! This is the second post ive seen today about wrecked proteges:( If it were me i wouldve kept a close eye on the suburban no matter how far away from you he was until he regained control. Instead of marking on calendars for when spring starts they should just put mazda owners beware of dumb drivers on the hunt for our cars...

Man...that sucks! Sorry to hear of your loss. Hey, at least you and you brother are ok. I have to bet some cell phone or Starbucks droppage was involved in that Suburban for them to lose control like that...

That's the thing, those types of vehicle are so uninvolving to drive, people (with short attention spans) who drive them get bored and decide to do other s*** while at the wheel! End of rant.

Yeah...tell me about it. But to bw honest with you, the suburban took off and never looked back and the Alero pulled to the other side of the road facing the other way. I mean in Georgia who doesnt own a suburban or knows some that drives one....

That phucking sucks bro!! Glad you guys are doing ok. RIP P5

So the burban never stopped?? What a POS, I hope he runs off the road and flips his SUV.

So sorry to hear about your car. But after reading your story, glad to hear that you and your brother walked away with minor injuries. It could have been much worse.

Will you be buying another P5?

Lol, thanks for caring, lol. ButI dont hope he flips....just maybe hits a curb like I did. What killed my car was it was so much lower than it should be stock.

Good gawd man glad to see that your ok... juddgin from your story and the looks of the car it was one hell of a ride.

I'm curious what was the peoples reactions in the alero when they seen it all go down?

Did you have alot of mods on it? Did you pull them off before it hit the junkyard? Yeah, lowered cars + curbs = bad karma

Well the guy in the Alero is someone that I actually know so he was more worried about me and and my brother than anything else. And about the mods, they would not let me take much out. I had Injen cai, GReddy exhaust, OBX headers, Eibach springs, CP racing strut bar.

well that sucks that you couldn't remove the mods to try and recoupe some money.

oh no! p5 curse! gah! (dark)

I'm glad everybody is ok. and your insurance won't go up since it was a "no fault" accident, so that's good...poor p5..

what's your next car?

dude I'm with everyone else when I say sorry to see that. Assholes can't drive at all man. Every single day I drive I have to deal with someone who almost hits me or someone else it's just sad. Anyway, good luck with the new car man, whatever it may be and don't forget us if you don't go with a Mazda (first)

Yeah I'm glad we both came out good, but by looking at the car, I'm amazed we did come out like we did. But I called the lein holder(Wells Fargo) and they wont let me buy the car back to part it out. I can't take out the the exhaust because I don't have the stock one. The only things I could take out would be the intake(which is bent), the headers(which are F**KED) and the strut bar. The strut bar I need to take off to start making them. But for anyone that did not get in on Brach's lightweight pulleys, I have a full set but still waiting on the crank. Those will be for sale and also my RacingHarts which I luckily took off like 3 weeks before this happened. So you will see some things come off. Also a set of DaveB rings. :) Man it just sucked seeing it get towed away...

And I could never forget this crowd man, its probably been the most accepting out there. I'm hoping to go with a Mazda6 but I'm not sure.

Oh no!!!!! :( I'm happy to hear that you and your brother are okay, but that's so sad about the 5. :(
