Has anyone changed the oil in their 3 yet???? if so is it hard? and can u give me directions? I changed my oil in my other 2 cars but they were older.....thanks (hear ya)
I don't know about the 2.3, but the 2.0 is a breeze (once you get the shroud off the bottom of the car). This is my 12th car since I was 16, and this is the only 4-cylinder I've owned that has a vertically mounted oil filter - it makes life so much easier. (My Hondas' oil filters were mounted on the back side of the engine, up against the firewall). A little trick for the do-it-yourselfers - fill your new filter up with oil before you put it on....it reduces the amount of time it takes for your engine to get oil circulating at startup. (impossible with a horizontally mounted filter).
isn't it true that when your car is in warranty you shouldn't change the oil yourself, a friend of mine told me that if something happens to yur engine they can say that you werent changing the oil, and there is no proof that you did ???

Mikey444 they charge us $32USD here and one of my friends got charged full price even tho they ddn't replace his filter ond O-rings...I keep reciepts...and they can do a UOA to see if yere or weren't doing oil changes. If they pull the drain plug and laffy taffy like oil comes out then yes you are screwed.. the most time consuming is the dame O-rings. I didn't take pictures of it but the oil fiter when you drive it real hard for the 4000-5000 miles in between literaly twists (lol2)
