The car connects to Google Talk via 3G wireless (a Verizon wireless card), so yeah, you can talk to it while its driving, no antennas required. Its all read-only, except for the fact that you can write random messages to the LCD screen in the picture below if you want. So don't do that ;-)

I have a fairly involved carpc setup in my MS3, some of you may have seen it before. I just got some custom code working well enough for me to have an instant messaging (IM) session with my car (it has a Google Talk account), so I thought I'd show it off. It understands a specific set of commands, as well as more general natural language-style stuff. Here's an example (screenshot of an Adium chat client on Mac OS, of me talking to the car):

I can ask it all kinds of stuff about various OBDII parameters, GPS config, write messages to an in-console LCD, etc. Fun times.

haha, next you need to provide it a high gain antenna for remote access...just might want to be careful you whitelisted the commands your pc can receive. don't want someone to start probing for vulnerabilities into your os

I love you too. You can haz an iphone interface? These are from the simulator but if you hit an url on my website it will redirect you to the actual car (when the car is on, it publishes its IP to my site to support this). I think I could drive by using the google map on my iphone in my lap rather than looking at the road. You know, for kicks.

I am trying to get the code organized to share -- its in my svn repo but its not really packaged for distribution very well. Trying to get it there at some point between the crazy busy job and the kids.
