Im lookin at some 17x7 with a +38 offset on them, u think they will fit nice with a maybe 205 or 215 45 ?

i dont think so. i believe for the p5s you want to run at least a 45. you can get away with a 42 with 205/40, but i dont think anything lower will work if i remember the fitment guide correctly.

What exactly wont fit about them? I test fitted some 17 x 7 witha +35 offset and they seemed to fit, will it rub the fender? I would be goin with a 215 40 series. which is exactly the same size as stock for diameter.

I had 215/40's on 17x7's with a +40 offset and rubbed something fierce in the back (tire shop's mistake, I was supposed to get +48's). Not even rolling the fender helped... +35's will definitely not work... Read the fitment recipe in the rims/tires/suspension section.

i have 19x7.5 with a +42mm offset on 215/35-19 tires and i had to roll my rear fenders like crazy. the rear still rubs with 3-4 people (only on big bumps though). i know 19's and 17's are a big difference, but knowing that a +42mm offset would not work with out some time of modification, i'm almost positive that +38 with 17's will rub too. if i'm wrong though, let me know...it would be something good to know.

Yup, don't do it. Follow the recipe. It's as good as it gets. Don't go by looks. Get a phat ass dude to jump up and down and check clearance between tire and fender upon compression with a piece of paper. But why waste time when I've already done all this.
