OEM Navigation thoughts....

Ill try it tonight when I get it, and im sure ill laugh my ass off if it works. If that is the case, im sure there are other "secret" menus. LOL

-Press Menu -> Navigation Set Up -> Calibration -> Map Version
-Press the joystick up, up, down, down.
(yes)

I am not saying that our NAV couldn't be better. But it is a tool, and at least for me it gets me places I ask it to and with a bit of practice it's not hard to use. If I wanted a Lexus, with all the baggage that goes along with it (e.g. high price, sloppy handling, etc.) I would have gotten it, but NAV is only one small part of the total car.

what exactly does it do?

Frankly, it's not very useful, but it's fun to play with a few times. It reads out satellite information, sensors in the inertial guidance unit, mostly diagnostic information. There are some tantalizing bits about voice control that is turned off. By the way, you have to power cycle the car to get back to the regular screens, and you can only get to the hidden screens if you are stopped.

actually it came with the car I bought it used at 9k. I have every receipt the owner spent on the car, and this install cost him $1000, with 3 or 5 years warranty I forgot exactly.
