Looking good Yellow.

Quick question(s)... did you clearcoat your wheels? And what did you do to fill the dimples, and you think it would hold up to powdercoating?

yes, 3-4 coats of duplicolor wheel clear coat. i filled the dimples with some hard core putty/filler stuff... i'd have to check the brand name. you mix some epoxy resin in with the putty, slap it in the dimples and it hardens in a few minutes. then lots of careful sanding to get it flush with the spoke. don't know if it would stand up to powdercoating but i can check the label for heat info too. powdercoating process goes up to 400-450 degrees, right?

Chrome RX8 wheels on white look hot! Not Yellow- did you sell your MX-5 17" wheels?

haha... they were chrome when i started but put a lot of work into making them smooth and bronze. just took the tires off the MX-5s. definitely selling the tires and am either going to refinish/powdercoat the wheels or sell them... kinda on the fence right now.

so, it's called "cargroom" body filler. just got it at my local hardware store. doesn't say anything about temps on it so not sure if it would hold up to a powder coat. seems pretty damn durable though. i used it to fill in all the curb rash on the wheels and it's held up great, even with mounting/dismounting tires.

Chevvy, I personally think the stock wheels look better on your car, I guess im not feelin the chrome/bling on a sporty car..chrome is just overkill..you hardly notice the car from all the shine on the wheels...LOL!

you guys know what powder coat is right? its put on using a neg.-pos. attraction, thats why only metal parts can be powder coated
if you fill in the dimples with body filler, the powder wont stick to those areas

Nice!!! What bike are you using? Its hard to see the headtube emblem...I am on a Gary Fisher HiFi 29er.

Thanks, I had issues with my Fisher dealer so i went from a Marlin disc to a Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Elite. I havent really tried out a 29er other than around a parking lot, how do you like it?

Man, I absolutely love my 29er! I ride a lot of rocky desert trails and the 29er eats it all up!
