~2pm after the storm passed on monday

dodge truck ran a red light (actualy, a non-functioning light and we all know to treat them as 4 way stops - well all except the guy that hit me)

yes, i'm "ok"

unconscious for about 45 min

left leg and arm beat to hell, left elbow cut up pretty bad

a few small cuts from glass in my head

smacked the steering wheel at some point under my right eye

neck and upper back very sore still, 5 days later

gots me a legitimate crip-walk now

no, i haven't contacted a lawyer yet - suggestions?

yep, car's totalled

nope, no car ins agent has contacted me yet - local office has no power is their excuse



as usual there's always more details but official popo repo' says it's all his fault





i expect to walk away with this car paid off, a new car (paid off), and a boat load of cash in my pocket

so sorry to see that happen to you. its good you werent seriously hurt. too bad about the car....i'm feeling your pain there. my car is still at the body shop because of a guy in a p/u(as well) who made a left turn w/o yielding to me. good luck w/ the insurance. i will be pulling for you b/c i know what its like now to deal with insurance co's. just like everyone's said already, glad to see you're okay, even if you did come out with a crip walk. Seriously, it could've been a lot worse. Side impact collisions are bad, especially in car/truck crashes. I see you have a 2003...did you have side bags on the car? Just curious.

Oh...and I hope you get everything you need from that freakin truck driver.

recovery is painful, esp. in my upper back and neck

left leg is recovering much easier, yesterday was the 1st day since that i could think straight, today i can breath deeply since monday (ribcage was all messed up as well)
glass cuts on both arms, and a really nasty one on my left elbow - which the docs didn't bother to stitch up so now it looks like a nice chunk was carved out - i'll be suing the hospital for that as well as they sent me off w/o any pain meds
oh yeah, and i think i broke my ass too, every time i go to stand up, my tailbone hurts - wtf

yeah, i'm walking (limping) away from all this with a load of cash - hell as long as my car loan is paid off, i get the title (i'll push for that but i won't really care there's really nothing salvageble except the engine and rear seat, everything else is bent, cracked, or destroyed in one way or another (there aren't any shadows in those pics, anything that looks like one is actually a dent or a fold of metal), and i get a NEW car fully paid for and the title (no, dunno what to get next, thinking of a mazdaspeed 6 loaded of course, plus an assload of cash then i'll be happy

i was turning left from e. newport ctr dr. onto sw10th to go west, and i never heard brakes or engine or horn, and i didn't see anything
there was literally no reason for me NOT to go when i did
i did see a vehicle stopped at the light, we got there at the same time, but i was on the right and he wasn't moving - AND since i was on the right i had right-of-way
