I'm just kidding with ya.. I remember saying how your carbon hood and trunk look clean on some other thread, then you commented back saying there were just painted :)

Nice job on the car as well as the documentation. Very clean.

Thank you sir..

Oh yeah thats right... I see ya got jokes...well im hopefylly goonna buy a cf trunk this weekend if all goes well so gotta keep fingers crossed.
And by all goes well I mean my wife let's me drop some coin on a trunk I don't need. So wish me luck guys.

Thx @ sderrickson...

She moves pretty good as of right now. Some new tires, a good tune and the carbon goodies on will step it up a notch. She should be driving on rails when it's all said and done, but unfortunetly she can't get into boost because of the stock tune :(

I'm all show, but no gooo...

Great thread, pics and comments. I am amazed at how clean your ride is, especially on these dirty Houston roads.

Last update was in July, it's September now. :) How is the build going? Inquiring minds are waiting! ;)

I don't post much, mostly lurk. I'm currently contemplating either A. - Selling my worn out Spicy, 150,000K, Zero mods, 100% stock, (new Exedy S1, that's it) *immaculate* paint and interior though, zero door dings, namely because it has been garage kept (home & work) for the past 8 years, or B. - rebuilding it, going forged with mild upgrades to keep it a manageable daily driver. Aside from the engine & turbo being old and tired, it needs a lot of minor work, struts, clunk-fix, etc.

Wife is pushing me hard to sell it, says I'm getting too old to be driving a "car like that". She has hated the car from the day I picked it up at the dealer. She's an Aggie...and it's an ORANGE car.. (Texas folks will understand what I'm saying..I bet you can guess the color of her vehicle..)

Cash for a build isn't the problem, time is, since it is still my DD. I'm still on the fence. Everyone here who has traded away their MSP seems to regret it, so that might sway my decision. This thread is inspiring me to take a second look at a engine rebuild..

Kinda sucks, when you are young you can't afford the cool things you want, and when you get older, you have the money, but no time to enjoy those cool things. ;)

Hey Lyserjic,

Yeah it's been sometime since I been on the forums. My brother and I just stopped cold turkey on parts and what not. I purchased just about everything I needed for the time being; forge build aside. It's been rough these past few months not being tuned and all. Not being able to defend myself on the streets has got me all depressed in s***. If I ever get on her, it's just a big pile of smoke and a loud B@NG!

I do have some good news though, Sam @ C r o s s o v e r a u t o mentioned Haltech has finally finished the update on our car. (rockon) Now we just need to find some time and start installing all the parts laying around CitizenPro's house and go get TUNED!

About your car situation; I'm not sure how your doing finacially, but I'm sure you know how expensive this hobby is. If my brother would have told me I would be dropping nearly 20k in parts in less then a year I wouldn't have purchased this car. I don't regret it though, we all live once and I'm still young. Just glad my brother is here to guide me through this whole process. I would DEFINITELY keep the car. It's becoming harder and harder to find a decent MSP, especially how it's a spicy and in near immaculate condition. There is just something about the car and owner that you will regret like most previous owners have mentioned. I don't think I'll ever sell her, not just cause of all the money I spent, but just the fact that she's unique and extremely fun to (drive).

Here is what I can tell you...

A: Keep her stock and continue to drive her till she has no more left in the tank. After the motor is finished try and find a car that gave you that same feeling. That way you drove the MSP for all it had over the years and it's time to move on.

B: Keep her stock and continue to drive her till she has no more left in the tank. If the mod feeling is still there then start your build! (If I could start over this is what I would have done).

C: Start doing some research around the forums for what parts are available or message me or my brother and I'm sure we can help you get started right away. Plus I'm sure it'll be fun hanging out with another modded spicy around Houston! (lol2) but don't let that last comment sway you (evil).

Oh aggies, I love Spicys, it is FAR from burnt orange.

It's not officially released. We're just testing the new 36-1+3 trigger pattern for Haltech, if it works then they will release it on their next firmware update.

David, don't give up on the car. Its a lot of ups and downs with the MSP and unfortunately now is the down time. But you will figure it out and make it run great.

Long time no see David, Hows she doing ????? hahah dumb question because everytime i get on this thread there is good s*** going on.. Im antious to know whats up with that Firmware update from Haltech. is it for the E6X or newer model ???? Well changing the subject a little I have come up with something you might be extremely interested and is a must if you want to have a bullet Proof Transmission... and to prevent gear breakage

@mazdaspeed2oo35

I believe the firmware update will only be for the newer model Haltech's.

This was posted on JDMSam's forum...

"From my continual development for my own MSP, I have now the beta test firmware upgrade for complete sequential fuel injection for our cam sensor/cam gear.
There is no better ECU than a Haltech for the MSP. The firmware has our exact trigger and home pattern.
Gone are the days of having to modify the factory cam gear/sensor or swapping it with a 626 gear/sensor.
If you have a Sprint 500/Platinum1000/2000 and also want to beta test please post in here."

from another thread

^ There's the answer!

I haven't been to Sam's forum in awhile, though he and I are in constant contact over the phone. We've been blowing up Haltech's emails about this firmware update for months! Glad its finally here......Sam already sent us the update and we'll be testing it out this weekend.

I'm hanging in there buddy, it's not the MSP that's the problem, but the tune. The Spicy has held up great so far and is still looking beautiful as always. I just need to give her a nice wash one of these days and get her ready for the tune; God willing it works.

Hey whats up Miguel! She's doing great man. A little dirty, but a good detail and she be back to MINT. About that transmission... you get everything situated with PAR about the Helical gears? I looked on your thread, but it's gotten a little out of hand, unfortunately. I wish the best of luck for you buddy. Be sure to post up pics and videos when it's all done for us.

Peace.

Wow so Im ****** then. I have the E6X, is there a way to ask Haltech to make an update for us the E6Xs Users ?? i need to change to sequential to make my car run better without the need to get rid of my Adjustable cam gears..

Sorry to burst your bubble man but that update is really only for the sprint 500 and up. Beings that yours is a older model and tune by RPM based. I do not see that one happening.
