Newb question - remote actuated windows on CX7 GT?

There is some liability involved if windows goes up automatically (especially for children) so it will not work remotly.

This is true. However, Mazda has already accepted some liability as it already includes "power-up" windows in the front. Since these are the windows that open, there shouldn't be anything that prevents them from going back up. The only question becomes does the sunroof close automatically? And, if not; is that why Mazda hamstrung those of us without the sunroof?(loser)(stoned)

(Did I mention I love the selection of smilies on this site? (alright))

Guys,

You should give a try to the "Audio and Electronics" forum where this problem was discussed over and over.

There is some liability involved if windows goes up automatically (especially for children) so it will not work remotly.

But if you use the key (I mean the metal key in the door lock) and hold it turned as to close the car, windows and sunroof will close.

Has anyone rolled their window up with their arm out the window? the dealer showed me and I have tried since then. when it hits something it bounces back down. kewl feature.

Question

I am looking to buy a 07 GT with tech package and Remote start.

Does it come with switchblade ? or the credit card type key? and can I roll up/down windows with the credit card type key ?

Thanks

Thank you

I have had my CX-7 for a year and didn't know that my car had this option. I have the regular "switch blade" key and it works. Hold down the unlock button on the second push and my windows and moon roof open. Wouldn't you think that they would tell you about this in either the manual or at the dealership ?

It is in the manual, I overlooked it too, I actually found out about it by holding the button down too long, it should be more of a said feature.

I read the pdf manual, yes you can roll the windows down on the remote.

but can you roll the windows UP on the remote ? didnt say anything in the pdf manual.

Not with the remote, but you can stick the key in the door turn it to lock the car and hold it there and the windows will do up.

If you have the advanced key you can just press and hold the driver's door request button.

I just wish it worked on the back windows as well.

One thing you guys should try, it works on my S40 (I'm still waiting to get my CX-7 :-( ) is when you are in the car with the engine on, press the unlock button on the door panel once and let go. Then press it again and hold it down, in 5-10 seconds the windows may all go down. Doing the same with the lock key makes all the windows go back up.

It might not work at all, but since the S40 shares components with the Mazda 3, and the 3 with the CX, then maybe it might work.
