Hello.
I've been going through the forums, lurking about, and thought it time to make my first post.
A couple of weeks ago I traded in my '05 Passat TDI wagon (bought new - 98Kmi.) for a Copper Red Mica GT w/ just under 30K miles. I wanted more space in the cargo area than the wagon offered, and the third row seating was a major consideration, too. Now, when my grandchildren visit with their parents, we can all go on our way in one vehicle.
I'm a salesman covering Western WA from Seattle to the US/Canada border, as well as Ellensburg and Wenatchee, East of the mountains. I represent Leviton, Mfg. (www.leviton.com) and take their various electrical offerings to the wholesale market for residential, commercial and industrial construction. Also, I sell their Connected Home products (low voltage voice, video, audio, data) to the same wholesalers. I have to carry a fair bit of literature and samples and the Passat just wasn't cuttin' it.
On my short list of replacement vehicles were the Touareg the XC90 the Flex and the Enclave / Acadia. Zoom Zoom won because it had everything I needed and nothing I didn't, if you catch my meaning, all for a price I could live with.
I really like the comfort, the quiet, the seating position, the ROOM, and the motor/tranny combo is outstanding. The CX-9's handling is much better than the other's with the exception of the Touareg - but the CX-9's power
/torque was much more driveable and she has a ton more luggage area.
All in all, I'm very pleased with my choice and I'm glad I found this forum. I'm looking forward to the next 3 years motoring around and sharing my experiences.
Later.
