Just checked out Tirerack.com. They have 215/45/17 SP9000s on sale for 137-w rated. Not too bad of a deal. The Kuhmo 215/45/17s are now $89. Just a little info for ya!
check out this link for more info!

Don't forget tho...I want a 40 profile.

16.2, STOCK? NO friggin WAY!!! Post your time slip man, that's a CRAZY fast time. How much are the tires each? linkage?

If you dont belive it i will send you one of my time slips. Let me just download it though. I am telling you it is definatly the truth. Its not the car thats fast but the driver behind the wheel. In time though I plan to do more but i would like to have the car paid by next year before I do any serious mods.

I'm not sure if these are what you're looking for, but these are the tires I am buying just as soon as I get off my arse and call Rishie to see what prices he can get. Tirerack has them listed at $103 per tire for 215/40 17 & $98 a tire for 205/45 17. I know you don't want another 45 series, but I thought I'd point it out to you guys.

How much of a difference will the 40 vs. 45 make and are you going to have your odo recalibrated if it's big (more than a couple %)?

Yeah those Yokohamas look pretty good APEXi. Good price as well. Hey what do you guys think about the fitting of the 215/40/17s OR 215/45/17s? Do you think they'll rub at all? I would like 215s as I think they'd give the car a better looking stance and also improve handling.

Just so you know Kooldino and cjstringer, if you go to the Tire Size Calculator and do 215/45/17, your speedometer would be .9mph too slow, if you do 215/40/17, your speedometer would be 1.2mph too fast. So while 215/45/17 have less error, I wonder if that would give us rubbing issues? I'll be curious to see what you guys do! Good luck!

I spoke to Wheelguru (Sean) at Automotive R&D today and I was asking him if I'd rub with 215/40 17's. He told me that if you're planning on keeping your car at stock height you can use either 215/40 or 215/45. Once you lower your car however, you will rub with anything 215 or higher, unless you roll your fenders. This is came from a guy who has tested a bung load of combinations on his MP3 and they have also tested a lot of set ups on a P5 aswell. We both agree that on an MP3 with a mild drop (.75 to 1 inch), you might be ok with 215/40 depending on how stiff your spring rates are and what offset your aftermarket wheels might be.

LOL, I'm not calling you a liar, I'm just saying that your time is unbelievable. That's a good thing. Yeah, I'd love to see your time slip. Post it.

Those 60' times are SWEET. It's hard to get a good launch in this car. What were the temps that day anyway?
