Alright guys i apreaciate the help befor but i was kinda hoping the systems were gunna be below 50 k but o well. im only seventeen so i need a nice system for my budget. sorry guys.. I would say i could spend around two grand maybe more but it might have to be down the road. but anythign goes.

I think you'd better give us some more information before we continue this discussion. Otherwise it is a waste of our time.

1) What is your actual budget. How much are you willing to spend right now?
2) Do you plan on installing everything yourself? Do you know how to install it?
3) What type of music do you listen to? Do you want crazy bass from your system or good overall sound quality?
4) How much hatch space are you willing to sacrifice for this installation?
5) Are you against hacking up your doors to install larger speakers?

Answer all those questions and then we'll help you out.

Also, please read through some of these threads to get an idea of how much equipment is going to cost you. Perhaps you don't need to spend more than $1000 on your system.

Damn guys, can you be a bigger ass? First off this is obviously a kid because he used the word SICK to describe the quality of the set up he wanted. So with that you should have been able to figure out that when he said money is no problem that he really meant I have SOME cash.
Why dont you be nice and help the guy out first, then if he acts up jump him?

Bigboy to be honest 2k will get you an OK system. I spent that and a little more and I didnt even go with the high-end stuff.

You really need to give a little more info on the type of sound you want. Different subs deliver different sounds. I personally dont see the need to spend 500 bucks on a pair of components for a car that youll most likely trade in a few yrs or that will be obsolete in a few months.

Ive been to a few car meets and everyone that has heard mine likes it and complements me on the sound. I went with the infinity kappa 6x9s and the infinity reference 5x7s with the swivel tweeters in the front (whoever I do suggest going with a nice set of components up front for around 200 or less). For the head I went the cheaper way and got just a normal deck that had 3 sets of outputs with the normal controls. Again I suggest not doing that. Get one that has an input also for the mp3 players (my next by).
I have 2 amps; these were the most costly of the system. I am running a p5002 for the subs; by the way I have 2 12in infinity subs. And I have the p4004 amp for the speakers. I have to say these amps are great in my book. Ive heard by both the installers and on boards that they put out more then what the numbers say they do.

All in all if I had to do it all over I would have went with a better head and front speakers and just one amp for the subs. I cant complain about the set up I have but now its just too much, I guess Im getting old. To bad you dont live close Id sell you mind!!!!!

I'm happy to help him...but I need to better understand his situation. Otherwise I'm just shouting out ideas and that is a waste of my time. I have proposed several nice systems in the $500 and $1000 audio threads and others have done the same.

who was being an ass? neither post prior to yours was remotely rude. i think the only post that could be considered even remotely smartasstic is my first post in his original thread. i was pointing out how sick a system can get, and if you read the post, i post this at the end:

" now that all that is out of the way, how about being realistic with what you want? post your goals and a real budget"

if he wants help, he's gotta be more specific, end of story. does he want a sick SQ setup or a sick SPL setup? are you a mind reader and know all that he wants? it sounds more like you had a problem with something, even though we've all been trying to help.

there are plenty more threads in the audio section that have gone off topic for more than 2 posts, why are you getting involved in this one? someone bitching because they can't handle the truth?

I perfer something with alot of base (mainly RAP, RNB, it doesn't matter if it isnt just one company just something with 2 15 inch sub's i have a jvc 12 disk cd changer and head unit that i could use but i would prefer to change to something nicer. i have $500 to spend but i coud wait a few weeks and have some more so any sugestions in the ball range will also help but i would perfer $500. i have a hatch back so i also need 4 tweeters. they were boston acoustic but it doesn't matter if there is something else that would work better they all blew.

i hope to onyl buy one amp so i need to know what would be the best for 4 4inch subs and 2 15inch subsi perfer least expensive without jeperdizing sound quality. i would actually like to buy a new head unit that will play ipods. mp3's. I think i will wire it myself bet any helpfull tips, hints and instructions/ directions would be greatly apreciated for a 89 323.

i know it holds a great resemblence to the $500 challenge and all but i was hopping more for it to be specificly for my car becuase im new at all this and dont really know what will and wont fit for my 323 so if there is any on there that might work to id appreciate it if you could direct me to them also.

Ok see now you will get bashed and deserve it. You went from money is no problem to 2k to 500!!! Hell that bearly get's a good amp. That and why would you want 2 15in subs? I've had my system for almost 2 yrs and the 12s
have just about rattled my car apart.

you dont need 4 tweeters just get a decent component set for the front

amp depends on what speakers and subs you buy

buy his subs... save up some more money and get a nice amp and components for the fronts (f-the rears you don't need em) seriously look at the 500 and 1000 audio challenge for links to stuff as car audio stuff really isn't car specific.... head units aside you just need to know what size door/deck speakers you have stock and what will drop into the same spot...
