New Part (midpipe with highflo cat)

Ok, as many of you may know I've had the 3" www.apexr1.com exhaust sitting at home now for a few weeks waiting to try and get one of their midpipes on the car since I haven't gotten my downpipe back from Beau.

Is there a upgraded pipe needed to go from the Mid Pipe to the MS Axl back exhaust, for a complete header back exhaust line?

Or would the Axl back MS exhaust attach to the Mid pipe, and those together would be a full line from the header back?

NO, there is no aftermarket pipe that just goes from your header to the axle back that I know of. Most exhaust are going to be cat-back systems that include the muffler portion of it. You can get a midpipe from Mental Addiction Motorsports that should fit perfect on your ride. The one that I have shown above is for the MSP only that I know of but it may work.

Or would the Axl back MS exhaust attach to the Mid pipe, and those together would be a full line from the header back?

The Mazdaspeed muffler that I know of is only an axle back setup and connects to your factory cat-back portion.



Your best bet on the exhaust would be to get a midpipe from Mental Addiction Motorsports and then have a shop build what you want for a cat-back setup.

I curently have a Axl Baxk exhaust, and MAM makes a Mid Pipe for the Protege (It looks EXACTLY like what you got there)

Any-who...

Im trying to figure out if I get the Mid Pipe would I have a complete exhaust line from the header right out (I also have headers)

Sooooo Does it go

Mid Pipe to axl back

OR Is there a part that goes between the mid pipe and the axl back portion?

Dude you have a header to cat to downpipe to mid pipe to cat back to axle back i do believe you can email the guy at mazdastuff.com to send you a picture of your exhaust set up in pieces.. I know Kadrien knows for sure but if i remeber correctly i am sure about everything except the downpipe. i know you have a fat Cat right under the header.

No I dont, I have Tsudo 4-1 headers that remove the Cat & Dp from the equasion. (To bring you up to speed) I also have a Axl back, Im ordering the Mid Pipe, but want to know if there is anything else I would need for a full exhaust line.

The Mid pipe has a Cat on it & pipe that goes from the Cat Back to a exit point. Just to be clear, your saying there IS a SEPERATE pipe that goes from the Mid Pipe exit to the axl back portion. This means 3 peices from the Header back (Not including the header)

Is this corect?

I put in on with my 3" www.apexr1.com cat back with black annodized muffler, looks awesome and sounds sick. Pulls so much better and is oh so much louder but sounds SO SO SO GOOD!

Well there is Silver State Motorsports, but I don't know if their dyno is working (they once did the huge Supra Meet on their dyno). Then there is Factor X Engineering, but last time I called them their dyno was down (their out by the speedway). There is another place on Lake Mead that has an AWD dyno called Dougs (215 past the Fiesta, which has a stoplight, keep going past the Sprint phone yard, then there is a Casino Monte Lago sign, turn right, just after that. Henderson Industial park rd. First row of buildings on the right, # 204)

Yeah there should be another pipe that connects to your cat back that goes over your axle unless you have a under axle then you prob dont have one. but its mainly for ease of removal and install ....
